One of the highlights of my trip to Japan was realising my dream of photographing the Snow Monkeys of Jigokundani (near Nagano) & the whole experience left me thinking about how important it is we be thankful for evolution & that we should celebrate it with more attention then we give our imaginary gods.
Taken with Sony A7RII & the legendary vintage Tamron Adaptall 180mm f/2.5 lens;. It was my first time travelling with the Sony & i'm loving how effective it is with older manual focus/aperture lenses.
Please feel free to this post or individual images & even if you feel so inspired. I think it's important everyone take some time out to see ourselves in another creatures eyes & I'd personally love it if more people got to view my work.

The mounted butterflies were beautiful. The colours were so bright and vivid.
Evolution is the oddest store ever. All sorts of animal skulls and skeletons.
And all sorts of other weird stuff that is interesting to look at but I couldn't
imagine buying. I have no idea what purpose a lot of this stuff would serve.

Evolution is a 4 tonne bronze sculpture showing the evolution of one of the world's oldest sports, archery, from Roman times, through the Imperial era to contemporary.
It has been gifted to our city by the Beijing Olympic Sculpture committee and China's Ministry of Culture, who also chose Gisborne as one of only 12 cities around the world outside China to host the collection of small sculptures to commemorate the Beijing Olympic Games.
The sculpture was unveiled on its plinth at Marina Park on Friday 8 October 2010.
