everyone has lived in a place that has a familiar homely back alley. perhaps it was where you grew up, perhaps it was where you walked to school or to work. a sense of nostalgia comes to you when you revisit it after many years away. that was this little back alley in leadville.

Pumpkin patch at Harris Farms, Minesing Ontario

Thanksgiving Day is an annual Canadian holiday, occurring on the second Monday in October. The day has been celebrated as an annual holiday in Canada since November 6, 1879, when parliament passed a law designating a national day of thanksgiving.

I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

The RhB Llanz Gueterzug with Ge6/6 ii 706 is seen headed west around the often photographed photo curve between Llanz and Castrich. The RhB operates a number of freight trains on this line which cater to the carload industries along the line as well as interchange traffic to the Matterhorn-Gotthardbahn.

"Everyone is waiting

and when we're done

soul searching

as we carried the weight

and died for the cause

is misery

made beautiful

right before our eyes

will mercy be revealed

or blind us where we stand."

I wish you and everyone out there a healthy and happy new year. This was my first real drone shot. I have been struggling with restricted zones where I live of areas that I feel compelled to photograph. I caught this one on an early morning. I hope you enjoy it.

Reflected light hitting the buildings taken a few mins ago from my living room in Toronto.

Happy weekend and thanks for visiting, enjoy each day!

SSC Challenge this week: "Holiday food and beverages."

Here is my "holiday beverage of choice" for the challenge. This is a nice, local wine. I don't often drink wine, but this was very enjoyable. Sharp Sisters Red Blend

And a lovely holiday tune for you:

Mannheim Steamroller from their "Christmas Extraordinaire" album (2001). Happy Holidays, everyone!

Wishing everyone a grand Sunday. I found this beautiful magnolia blossom in the park and wanted to share it with you...pure white with a brush of pink. Thank you for visiting!!!

Everyone knows about the Sunrise and Paradise entrances into Mount Rainier National Park, those who enjoy the long beautiful drive go around to the Stevens Canyon entrance, but the lonely forgotten washed out Carbon River entrance is still there, you just have to walk it. I'm not fond of this pic, but it does show what the hike in looks like walking through 800 year old Douglas Firs. It's dark and where the light beams in the rays cause magic steam. the boughs hundreds of feet above you creek and a lot of them are falling. Moss inches thick covers the ground and down trees and more trees grow out of them. It's a tree lovers paradise as long as there isn't any wind. You walk on what was once the road which follows the river so it's sound is ever present and small waterfalls can be heard inland as well. It's damp, it was cold, the smell was amazing and my face still hurts from smiling. More (and better) shots to come.

blow it up large and take a look around. :-)

Everyone has that one special Friend

HSS everyone. PP info: Original HDR image of low raking sun behind a cloud. Took exposure down and upped black levels to create the silhouettes.

Processed using Light Room's cross process pre-set to get a moody offset to the colours.

In photoshop increased canvas side stretched 20% wider and added the reflection by flipping the image then transforming it to crush it down. Tweaked the Hue level of the reflection portion then finally added a redfield filter for water ripples.

My red friend and I are wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday! This is from a batch for my 365...may post a different one when I get it into sequence with the others or advance this...don't know yet...

I also posted the black and white version below for all you who love monochrome...I actually processed this 4 different ways...

Anywho...be by later to visit...popping in and out this weekend...take care all!

I think this looks better large on the dark background to see the light... =)

No eggs i'm afraid...just another little ladybird from last week. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and sorry I have been slow to view everyones streams this week. School holidays and kiddies come first... hopefully catch up over the weekend :)

Explored April 7th :)

Hello everyone, I'm afraid it's not good news, Chip will be staying in overnight tonight and we can collect him in the morning.

He does have cancer and it has spread to his liver, The vets have told us we could have 3 months max but most probably it will be 6 weeks. We will make the right decision when the time is right.

He can't do beaches etc until after Christmas, nearer to New Year but when he can rest assured he will be. We've tried to give him the best life we possibly could and will continue to do so until we no longer can. He will be getting more treats, Chicken and his favourite, sausages cooked for him daily.

As you can imagine we are very upset and I don't really know what else to say. We would like to thank all the staff at Williams Veterinary Surgeons both in Cemmaes road and Tywyn, especially Amy who was happy for me to crumple in front of her today and showed me great kindness, thanks guys for doing everything you could.

Whishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Year of photos

For these two boxes are the best.. hehehe

Lake Valley, New Mexico

Now a ghost town, Lake Valley was once a prosperous town of 4000 people. Apparently in 1893 a silver panic wiped out the town. Soon after in 1895 a huge fire destroyed the main street. There are only a few buildings left.

Good morning everyone. Just a single pic of a Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus troilus) nectaring on Field Thistle taken in early September. One of only a few I photographed this season. In general is was a poor year for butterflies, and in particular swallowtails.

As for the title, it's a tribute to Antoine Dominique Domino Jr., better known as Fats Domino, who passed away yesterday. One of the pioneers and true legends of Rock & Roll in the 1950's.

Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you are well and having a truly nice week.

All the best for a Merry Christmas to all !

I will continue the Scotland series after Christmas.

My EWSG version of this scene. Also I guess this serves as a teaser to Mr and Mr.Begote's crossover

Everyone is welcome at Brody's place. All you need is a pair of waders and a footstool. This one is for you Brody! It was so great to get to see you and shoot with you this weekend.

"Everyone's a whore, Grace. We just sell different parts of ourselves."

Happy New Year everyone from Larry and me! It's been in the minus 20's C (in a variety of ways) for some time. The birds might have some good ideas on how to get through all that's coming: know your strengths, and use the gifts (vaccines, sunshine) the universe is giving us.
