Storm Dennis for many was a question of staying indoors out of the way, a situation which the world is currently facing for different reasons.
With the storm there was a silver lining and the hoodie is never one to pass on a free meal.

Every autumn there are flocks of Sandhill Cranes that make their way through our area during their migration. Currently 1000 cranes can be found congregating together. This is an adult crane in winter plumage.

While it seems every man and his dog were up the S&C again, I decided on a more local outing. Not being arsed to have a full day out and seeing 419 was allocated to this, there was really only one option in my opinion. Having done my local spots to death with this train and still not succeeding with the sun, I travelled further up the coast for a more scenic, picturesque view. St Bees is the location and running 46 minutes early, 37419 heads north with the usual monthly 1q47 Derby-Carlisle test train. 37423 was on the rear. Had it been on time it would've been touch and go with the sun as a bank of cloud had started to roll in by then.
Now thats just about every 37 nailed on this train, all I need now is 37425 in it's Regional Railway's livery to complete the set!!

Every sunset has its own beauty. Sometimes it's the clouds that make the scene spectacular. Sometimes it's the sun that dives into the sea. Sometimes it's just the warmth you get from the colors and the feeling that you are the viewer of one of nature's most spectacular sights. You don't have to think about composition rules, settings and POVs. The beauty is there.. All you have to do is hit the shutter speed and forget about the rest.. chances are that you just captured something amazing.

Every year our fire department and food bank drive past every house in town to collect canned food.
Last year for some reason, they drove by so fast we couldn't get outside to give them food. This year, they stopped out front and passed food to a food bank van. The Grand-kids loved it!
I was talking to a volunteer and he said they thought this would be the last year the old firetruck would go out. They just can't find parts to keep it running.
As a kid, the Fire Department would come to our school in this very truck and take all the students on a field trip to the fire station. That was 53yrs ago for me.. Happy we got to see it running another year.
Every day, again and again, I stand in awe, and yes, still surprise at the constant beauty and intricacy of flowers.
This double Tulip absolutely enchanted me and I think I did it proud in this capture.
