Governor Kay Ivey gave participated in the GoMESA press event to announce the projects supported by funds from the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act of 2006 (GoMESA) at the GulfQuest Maritime Museum Friday, July 14, 2023 in Mobile, Ala. During the event, Governor Ivey announced 27 projects totaling over $67 million, focusing on sewer infrastructure, water quality improvements, research, land acquisitions and recreational access improvements. With this announcement, more than $180 million has been awarded for 78 GoMESA projects during the Ivey Administration. (Governor’s Office /Billy Pope)

An event that many thought would have been canceled due to the storms making a visit was wrong. Driving out early AM to RT66 Raceway in Joliet, IL I must say I had my doubt and that it was going to get canceled. Event the show promotors at gate didn't think the event would last past noon.
Those who attended enjoyed a great day of racing, car show and stereo competition. Even though I know many decided not to make the trip, there was still over 100 vehicles that competed in the car show and best participation ever in the stereo competition. The racing I thought was little light but still was fun seeing them run. Fastest vehicle of the day ran a 6.28 at 229.16 mph. The fastest street legal car was a Nissan GTR from Boostin Performance running 8.84 at 157mph.
