Star Anise oil is useful in diffuser and inhaler blends to help with colds, flu and bronchitis, and has been useful as a natural asthma remedy. In aromatherapy blends, star anise oil may be helpful for digestion and muscle aches and pains. Also used in fish bait and by fisherman to attract trout.
"JOY" perfume, I have been using for ages, has extract of these flowers.
So, It was a great pleasure to find this tree - in full bloom - Magnolia champaca (syn. Michelia champaca) - Champak.
Flowers actually are not as strongly fragrant, as I thought - they have 'gentle' sweet aroma.
Native to South Asia and Southeast Asia.
