This creation was built in 15 hours before Bricking Bavaria this year. It was inspired by an unknown South Korean artist whose work I’ve seen in a lobby of a hotel in Seoul. I like the idea of “distorting reality”, so I was curious to explore it in LEGO form. It was trickier than I thought to build as some bricks weren’t aligning as easily, initially I wanted to make the distorted effects slightly longer, however I ran out of bricks and time. There is definitely room for improvement and I would like to hear your feedback on what exactly. Let me know what you think, thanks!
Apartment building at Gärdet in Stockholm. Designed by Bjarke Ingels. Standing very close to the building. This is 23 photos stitched together. Shot with the Canon 77D, using the 60mm lens. One or two stitching errors here that I might fix later, or not.

#tbt time again. This is a shot I've posted before but I did some Photoshop cheating to make up for small errors in composition when I took this almost 11 years ago.
The Cheyenne Frontier Days train has returned from its trip to deliver a trainload of Coloradoans to the "Daddy of 'em all." Just before I snapped this photo, the steam locomotive ejected some steam/water from the smokestack which was subsequently illuminated by the headlight making for a slightly more dynamic composition. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!
Oil & Water on an elevated glass plate, the underside of the gift wrap on the ground below, & a whole lot of trial & error.... I'm quite chuffed I pulled this off without a macro lens. 😎

Memorial Day wreath for the long-range reconnaissance patrol, or LRRP of the Rangers. The long-range reconnaissance patrols (LRRPs) of the Vietnam War operated in a silent netherworld of dark green shadows where error could mean death and where the extraordinary was commonplace.
Traveling in small groups —often only three or four men —far from friendly forces, they strove to look, smell, move and act as much as possible like the enemy they sought in the depths of the jungle. LRRPs were hunters and trackers, and their elusive prey was the NVA and VC.
They were adept at the art of ambush, the quiet kill, unseen movement and survival. They wafted through the jungle like a solitary breeze, briefly felt, quickly gone. They were the eyes and ears of a roaring, earth-splitting, technological typhoon of destruction —the killing machine that was the U.S. military in the Republic of Vietnam.
The LRRPs —a small, unheralded, elite force of specialists in guerrilla warfare —were an all-volunteer group of soldiers with a minimum of formal training in the skills of covert counterinsurgency operations. Nevertheless, they had an effect on the overall military operations in Vietnam that was completely out of proportion to their number.
Over 1,000 men served in the First Cav LRRP/Rangers in Vietnam. More than half were wounded yet only 35 were killed in action. It is credited with the longest continuous combat tenure of any Ranger outfit in US military history.

perché questa foto, più la guardo più l'adoro.
non c'è nulla a posto, nulla chiaro, tutto indefinito, sfocato, tutto è fuori posto.
forse perché è così che ci si sente, ci si riconosce. Non nella chiarezza ma nella confusione.
forse, il senso di tutto, è un sorriso che rompe gli schemi e che viene fuori in maniera poco chiara, senza sapere il motivo.
Perché chiara ride? Chi si ricorda... ?
Erano le 8 di sera di questa estate. Stavamo rientrando esausti da una lunga giornata per le strade di Copenaghen.
Ma chiara ride... questo è il senso.
Questo è il mezzo e non il fine né la fine.
Il senso non si trova poiché, come i segreti, li cerchiamo nel posto sbagliato. Come in una domanda inutile.
Chiara ride è il senso.
Ed è la risposta
a qualsiasi domanda.
Beauty is a reflection of divine bliss and, since God is Truth, the reflection of His bliss will be that mixture of happiness and truth which is to be found in all beauty.
Forms allow of a direct, 'plastic' assimilation of the truths - or of the realities - of the spirit. The geometry of the symbol is steeped in beauty, which in its turn and in its own way is also a symbol. The perfect form is that in which truth is incarnate in the rigour of the symbolical formulation and in the purity and intelligence of the style.
Beauty mirrors happiness and truth. Without the element of 'happiness' there remains only bare form - geometrical, rhythmical or other - and without the element of 'truth' there remains only a wholly subjective enjoyment or, it might be said, luxury. Beauty stands between abstract form and blind pleasure, or rather so combines them as to imbue veridical form with pleasure and veridical pleasure with form.
Beauty is a crystallization of some aspect of universal joy; it is something limitless expressed by means of a limit.
Beauty is in one sense always more than it gives, but in another sense it always gives more than it is. In the first sense the essence shows as appearance; in the second the appearance communicates the essence.
Beauty is always beyond compare; no perfect beauty is more beautiful than another perfect beauty. One may prefer this beauty to that, but this is a matter of personal affinity or of complementary relationship and not of pure aesthetics. Human beauty, for instance, can be found in each of the major races, yet normally a man prefers some type of beauty in his own race rather than in another; inversely, sometimes affinities between qualitative and universal human types show themselves to be stronger than racial affinities.
Like every other kind of beauty artistic beauty is objective, and so can be discovered by intelligence, not by "taste". Taste is indeed legitimate, but only to the same extent as individual peculiarities are legitimate, that is, just in so far as these peculiarities translate positive aspects of some human norm.
Different tastes should be derived from pure aesthetic and should be of equal validity, just as are the different ways in which the eye sees things. Myopia and blindness are certainly not different ways of seeing - they are merely defects of vision.
In beauty man ’realizes’, passively in his perception and externally in his production of it, that which he should himself 'be' after an active or inward fashion.
When man surrounds himself with the ineptitudes of an art that has gone astray how can he still 'see' what he should 'be'? He runs the risk of 'being' what he 'sees' and assimilating the errors suggested by the erroneous forms among which he lives.
Modern satanism is manifested, no doubt in a very external way but in the most directly tangible way and in the way which makes the greatest inroads, in the unintelligible ugliness of forms. 'Abstracted' people, who never 'see' things, none the less allow themselves to be influenced in their general mental outlook by the forms around them to which they sometimes, with astonishing superficiality, deny all importance, just as though traditional civilizations did not unanimously proclaim the contrary. In this connection the spiritual aesthetics of some of the great contemplatives will be recalled as evidence that, even in a world of normal forms, the sense of the beautiful may acquire a special spiritual importance.

This is a fraction of an XPRO (Elite Chrome) contact sheet doubled with one of the images. I got annoyed with, you know, myself, and pushed to upload something today. Feels nice. Film is always so much more... satisfying than digital. This stream was for a long time exclusively analog. So, I need to shut up and get busy with "the smelly stuff!" ;-}

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Made a bit of a schoolboy error this morning. Decided to get up early on my last day of annual leave to catch the sunrise in the lakes (after spending ages lying in bed deliberating!). So off I set, trundling up the motorway when a dawning realisation struck me; my memory card was last seen sticking out of my laptop rather than in my camera and I didn't have a spare one in my bag. Still, it was a nice drive in the dark for an hour to end up back at home...
Here's a shot that I didn't take today.
It was a clear and calm night, though light pollution was not fair at the site.

It was a clear and calm night. Wind was mild. Ambient temperature was around -1 degree Celsius, and SQM-L read as 21.52 at the best. Atmospheric turbulence was nice in the season, and guide error RMS was 0.7-0.9".

Can technology correct human error, or are imperfections inevitable—whether human or machine-made? This thought-provoking question take centre stage in Error, inviting us to contemplate the unpredictable nature of imperfection and what this might mean in the context of Artificial Intelligence.
A massive, swirling and illuminated disc appears to hover, its surface pulsing with random bursts of light. This trance-like display mirrors the chaos of both the universe and technology, where glitches—like dreams—are unpredictable and chaotic but also hold the potential for creativity, change and new discoveries.
Error reminds us that to err is human, but perhaps those very errors open the door to divine possibility.
There is some huge human error in this, quite disappointing, but the bridge was Red, White and Purple for World Town Planning Day. I net some town planners up there and the International Town Planning Conference is in Brisbane next year.
