RD26507vid. The Ffestiniog Railway’s 1995 Steam Gala had the theme of ‘All Our Yesterdays’ and the line up included several 60 cm / 2ft gauge visitors from France. One of these is seen in this short video and it’s Krauss 0-8-0T 6999 BURGONDE built in 1914; it was visiting from the Chemin de Fer de la Vallée de l'Ouche (CFVO) which is south west of Dijon.
BURGONDE is a German WW1 Feldbahn locomotive with Klein-Lindner hollow axels front and rear; while these might be great for guiding the locomotive on curving track they can, as the video shows, create a side to side hunting motion when travelling at speed on straight track.
As the Gala was being staged in Minffordd Yard, a series of short shuttle trains was run from Porthmadog Harbour Station to Minffordd and they were top ‘n’ tailed to enable quick turnrounds. This is one such shuttle approaching Minffordd with BURGONDE leading and privately owned Kerr Stuart 0-6-0T SGT MURPHY trailing.
The video starts with Double Fairlie 0-4-4-0T DAVID LLOYD GEORGE heading a regular service train from Porthmadog Harbour Station to Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The front of this Howard St Building in San Francisco has been completely
"wrapped" in advertising for Sun's Java One conference.
Except for this one window, which normally displays slides that are supposed
to blend in with the rest of the advertisement (but are just as pointless - tag
clouds of too many words the ad agency didn't want to bother understanding,
that kind of thing).
The irony of having Sun advertise its Java product using a flash application
running on a PC is somehow not completely canceled by the fact that the
flash application periodically, and visibly, crashes.

Building an interface, when I fail my users, I don't want a "YOU BROKE IT, THE SYSTEM FAILED"... no I failed, so since I am human, I want a human error message..
The dog thing is just to brighten up a failed situation, nothing serious.
Flickr helps me spot typos it seems.....
I get a kick out of this FTP error: "500 Invalid command: try being more creative". I probably have some setting wrong.
Switching from my PC to my Mac fixed the issue :)
