This episode every participating member was given 3 cards, "type, material, genre."

I drew: bracelet, wood, steampunk for my cards.

Every week EtsyMetal is hosting a Jewelry CHallenge. It coincides with the show called Project Runway. We come up with a relative theme close to the show and then we create a pice or two of jewelry about it.

THere will be a full explanation, description, participants pieces made this week AND next weeks jewelry challenge posted late tommorow(fri) *HERE!

thanks for looking!

A classic scene from A New Hope, the new Rollerblades from Collectable Series 9 screamed out Mouse Droid to me, just been abit too lazy to do the shot.

The backdrop is my iPad (I had to do abit of photoshopping to extend it to the sides.

Rebel trooper & custom Vanguard on Tantive IV

♦ Instructions available at BrickVault

Introducing you to my latest Midi-Scale spaceship, the timeless Y-Wing from Episode IV - A New Hope! At 546 pieces, this compact and intricate model is barely wider than your average smartphone's height, but keeps a dense, detailed look and accurate proportions.

I initially made a first prototype more than a year ago but was unhappy with the half-baked, almost playset-ish scale. I took on the challenge again and recreated it entirely from scratch: it's now smaller, more accurate, and just better in every aspect.

Despite the small size, I did my best to capture the essence of the original ILM prop: tilted cockpit section, engines off-center relative to the thin support struts, asymmetrical greebles from top to bottom, cockpit turret...

Believe it or not, the deceptively simple shape of the body was not easy to capture at this scale: with such a tiny surface to work with, a subtle balance had to be struck between incorporating complex greebling and "drawing" an accurate body outline.

The cockpit section was a whole other beast, but once I figured out how to create the tapering, things clicked pretty fast. I managed to reproduce the slight downwards tilt, the yellow stripes on the fuselage, and the more discreet gray stripes on each side as well. I believe it's about as small as you can go when creating a Y-Wing cockpit without sacrificing crucial features and proportions!

This model comes with a removable stand. Although it being purely a display piece, its swooshability is very good. In addition to being cost-effective, I think it makes a nice desk model for anyone loving that ILM prop look, with a small space footprint.

Instructions for the Y-Wing are available at BrickVault!

This was shot a few weeks ago, I was in the process of culling alot of useless shots, but I liked this one, the angle of the head.

I messed around with the colours, and added a noise layer to try to make it look like a sandstorm.

Sometimes it's not what you had in mind at all when you set out for a little photography outing but still works out in the end. That is what happened here one morning this winter on Mt Hood. I found a comp I wanted to photograph with Mt Hood but the light never materlized that much on the mountain... but behind me, a complete different story! I would have done things slightly different comp wise but that would have involved getting up about another 50ft... vertically and I left the scaffolding at home on this day. And trying to move to another vantage point on the snow while the light was changing was not a chance I wanted to take for this scene. It was gone shortly after I shot this. Nonetheless, the layers caught my eye here. This was shot with no filters. The color was pretty interesting as you can see. Thanks for stopping by.

I've been attempting to get a few dramatic/moody shots, with a lot of mixed results. I like this mainly because it reminds me of the some of the shots from A New Hope.

The Jawa's make an unexpected discovery... and fire a flare to signal their Sandcrawler.

Not so sure about this, I had to make quite a lot of changes, mainly the hoods as they are too reflective (I might buy some spares and give then a matt paint job), so tried a load of different things to tone down the reflections (dodge, burn, blur).

I like the idea more than the picture, a bit too blurry, but I wanted the focus to be on the droid, and I like the glowy eyes of the Jawa's.

Taken up in the Columbia River Gorge recently during a foggy wet snowy morning. The wind was definitley going and everytime it swayed these tree tops made their presence known to me by dropping plenty of water or wet snow. Not so bad when you have your jacket all the way on but that was not the case one time which pretty much soaked me. Oh well, forutnately it was not too far of a walk for this scene. I am standing in the forest and these are all trees, some very faint because of the fog. I looked all around for quite a bit to find the best view of this scene, since these are not always easy to come by. Normally the background trees would be too messy for my liking in normal light but the pretty thick fog makes it work for me here. Thanks for dropping by.

LEGO Star Wars vignette from "A New Hope", all about Tantive IV

The search for the Droids begins.

This has to be my 6th or 7th attempt to get this scene right... it's not perfect but its the best I've come up with. I've always had issues with the composition, lighting and colour of the sand.

Admission: The Dewback in to background is "Micro Machines" but I needed something that was going to be way out of focus so it was that or a rock.

This is the scene of Starwars episode4, Luke was attacked by TIE fighter in the battle of Yavin.

Finally, Wedge saved Luke.

Kaya Scodelario: "Effy", from Skins. Although I'm so elderly and unhip and un-TV-watching that I had to ask someone else to identify her for me...

I was on the way past a location shoot this morning, and I took the fact that she started jumping up and down and smiling and waving when she saw me taking photos from the boat as a (not very-) tacit indication that she was happy for me to publish, even if it does make me feel slightly paparazzo-y.

If you see this, Kaya, thank you for the smiling and waving and general cheeriness, it cheered me up on a Monday morning, and that's difficult to do...
