A collaborative effort between The Women's Museum and the Texas Discovery Gardens, the Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) works to help students understand and take responsibility for issues in environmental and leadership studies.
Students learn environmental awareness, "green" careers, leadership skills, local environmental issues and strategies to impact environmental policy decisions.

Imagine our surprise when we were walking back to our hotel after seeing the sea otters at Vancouver Aquarium and Matt spotted this little guy cleaning himself on a jetty in the harbour!
He was a fair distance away so I had to use my 200mm lens and this was the best I could do sorry.

In Israel, just about every house and apartment has a dood shemesh, as you can see on this rooftop. A dood shemesh is just solar water heating. It's simple, it's cheap, and it saves energy.
So why don't we do this in southern California, where the sun shines some 340 days a year?
