I love how Carol's envie turned out. It's my first brave act of moving the postage out of the upper right corner! And it was delivered...so fun!

I signed up for a challenge called "A Month of Letters", where you send out at least one letter or postcard every postal day in February. No big deal, right? I'm trying to make it at least one long letter a day, though. So far I've sent out four: this is the only one for which I scanned the envelope.

Little mailbox photo over address is from Mandy Fariello. Gorgeous deco tape on back (the shiny gold doesn't scan well) also handmade by Danielle.
Are any of you out there into writing and receiving loooong letters—about thoughts, reflections, emotions...not just chatty news? If so, drop me a line! You can either write straight to the address for me on the envelope, or enter your postal address (you can leave the rest blank) in my address book (don't worry: only I can see it).

I am documenting the daily process of creating these envelopes at The Diary Project blog.
The Diary Project is a year long art project. Every day in 2007 I am drawing on an envelope, placing something secret inside and posting it to myself before my midnight deadline. When these envelopes return to me they will be kept unopened until they can be exhibited as a whole artwork. Members of the public will then be able to open the letters and investigate the contents. Once the letters have been opened, the contents will be displayed on the Diary Project blog.

The lock should be sealed, but can be done so in just one spot with a small sticker, dab of glue, etc.
This was folded from a 12x12 inch square of paper, yielding a 4.25 x 5.5" inch capacity envelope
I've been inspired by so many mail art artists to try my hand at some collage mail art. I have a nice supply of cheap business size envelopes. If I were to use quality envelopes, nothing would work out to my satisfaction.
A Postcrossing member in Baltimore sent me some advertising postcards in this handmade envelope with lots of medicine. Oddly enough, my husband has to go to the hospital tomorrow morning (May 18, 2018) for an outpatient medical procedure. So I've got medicine on my mind.
I tried making the more triangular version, but there was too much wasted paper. So I went back to the simple construction.
Made with Cavallini carte postale paper and 7 Gypsies paper tape. I should add that all these envelopes have loooong letters on the inside. (This one was 14 pages.) If you're a long-letter-type correspondent, drop me a line: maybe we can get a correspondence going!

put some envelopes together so people would know their seat assignments. you can't really see it on the ipad, but it's showing our google docs spreadsheet of guests.
