Security walks the other side of that pile of rocks. We ventured out this evening to our favorite haunts in Providence RI. We returned to the ongoing relocation of RT95/RT95 in the heart of the Providence curves, quite a spectacular undertaking.
Although not the coldest outing, the wind chill robbed our warmth and whittled our group of shooters as the night progressed. The wind eventually died down but I'll have to admit I was cold.
The group this time out was threshold, Skazama, Rizzolo, Rltm401 and Upsilon_48.

I'm not sure where to title it, or write it, but I've themed this on antique and vintage. I chose this because the gorgeous wedding gown is cinched at the waist with the crystals and pearls which gives it an almost antique-y look. Add that with the model's earrings and I was totally seeing vintage pieces.
I wanted to tie in a vintage/princess/fairy tale type theme, with pink the colour throughout.

These nesting dolls were produced for Nike featuring their entire pro snowboard riders team. A professional artist created the caricatures of pro riders, as Aliens, and hand painted the original nesting doll. We digitized the original art, then printed and cut it on premium cast vinyl with SP-300V. The art was applied to the 12" wooden blank dolls with hand painted backgrounds. Few more hand painted details were added to enhance the blend of printed and hand painted areas of the product. Each doll in the set was finally covered with high gloss water-based lacquer. A batch of several hundred sets was produced. Due to hand carved nature of the blank nesting dolls, every set varied in size and shape.

Meet Scratch Ocelot.
200 years after the invasion of an unknown species the human race was diminished to one tenth of it's original population. Every surviving member was trained to survive and kill as many of the enemy as possible. Using stolen technology and scrap metal humans stockpiled weapons. Scratch is a prime example of one of these soldiers. He is a technological genius, but like all people of this era wouldn't risk his life to save another individual. He was fit with a set of cybernetic legs after his real ones were cut off from a plasma chainblade. The aliens then dragged his body on there medical ship and did experiments which aren't easy to put into words. They then tried fitting him with robotic legs to see if humans could survive the process. Somehow he did and escaped. He was put in charge of the army of the American continent but we lost contact with him about three years ago. He is assumed to be dead.

In the year 2034, all hell was broken loose when Russia launched their nukes. So did the US. And China. Basically everyone launched everything they had once they gained a sense of insecurity, and the world was decimated to a large wasteland, with virtually no survivors and only one major force still standing, which was only known as "the District".
Basically, everyone was fucked.
Here, are two survivors, only a few months after the bombs were dropped, come across a dead District soldier, and a nearby grave.

The Fernando Pacheco Adobe is the only Concord landmark listed in all three Historical Registries: entry on the National Register occurred on June 6, 1980; the California Registered landmark number is 455; and the Concord Historical Landmark designation is 1-26-26/5458. The Adobe was built by Don Fernando in the early 1850′s as the base of operations for his growing ranch activities , and as his family’s formal residence. Fernando was the oldest son of Don Salvio Pacheco.
He was born on May 30, 1818 while his father was assigned to a Militia-Guard unit at the Pueblo of San Jose. At age 17, he was sent to take possession and mark the boundaries of his father’s 17,921 acre land grant. Fernando was given 1,500 acres as initial share of the rancho. He subsequently married Pasquala (Figeroa) (Juarez) – a widow. Their six children: Pedro, Bonifacio, Cipriana, Maria Asuncion (who married Jose Julian Cantua), Librada and Bersabe were raised at the Adobe. Don Fernando’s family enjoyed a reputation as gracious hosts. They were famous for their generosity and extensive fiestas on Adobe’s then lush, well irrigated grounds. The Adobe’s 32” thick walls were built of local adobe – mud mixed with grass.
Ownership remained with Don Fernando’s descendents until 1918. The land and adobe were then sold to the California Water Service Company ; it then was essentially abandoned. In 1940 title to 2 and 1/2 acres and the deteriorated adobe structure transferred to Contra Cost County, which leased it to the Horsemen’s Association. The Horsemen undertook a major rehabilitation, and used the then remote facility and corral for their headquarters.
In 1979, the country transferred the Adobe and it’s grounds to it’s current owner, the City of Concord. In the early 1980′s the Horsemen, the city, and the Concord Historical Society completed another restoration effort to stabilize the landmark Adobe. The Horsemen’s Association continue activities on site. The Fernando Pacheco Adobe is located at 3119 Grant Street, now well within the city limits. It is adjacent to Hillcrest Park and the De Anza Expedition Memorial marker.
The adobe home that Don Fernando's father Don Salvio Pacheco built, still stands to the southeast on Adobe St. in downtown Concord, though it has been remodeled several times over the years.
