I just realized that most of the guys in the class sat in the center column, while the gals sat on the two side columns. There were some guys in the front right column, but that's about it for gender mixing.
A subtle reminder of the gender separation that every culture seems to have instilled amongst its population. Even in the US, guys and gals seem to just naturally segregate to their respective gender groups, even when the social setting doesn't specify that.
I really don't know why I look happy here - grade 8 was the polar opposite of grade 7. No one liked me at all, though they were driven by a small group that seemed to have a grudge against me, led by someone who lived across from me. One of the chief reasons for my move to Barrhaven after thirteen years at Meadowlands.
This would have been taken in English class, by my English teacher who also didn't seem to like me (she got mad at me as easy as if she were to continue breathing for the rest of her life).
Things were discreetly thrown at me, I only had my one best friend from grade 7, and even he related threats to me from other people. I hated grade 8.

My daughter with one of the boys in her English class at Kogakura junior high school in Nagasaki. She taught with the JET program there for one year.

Grandparents Day at Worcester Academy, Oct. 26, 2018. Grandparents enjoyed dinner on Rowe Court in Daniels Gym and went back to class with their grandchildren.
So this was a photo I took as part of an English assignment. We were supposed to do something "creative" that summarized (kinda) the book you read. I read the Scarlet Letter and honestly, I have NO idea how this idea popped into my head. I thought about the book and just thought about a women carrying books through the fog. Lol
So after school I went to Party City and got a fog machine and a cloak and my mom modeled for me. Thanks mom!

Margery Reed Hall is home to DU's Theatre [sic] Department, including three student theaters, dressing rooms, costume shop, etc. I may be mistaken, but I think when I was a student here in 1960 I had an English class in this building.
Carter's a fun, funny kid. I think he said maybe four words to me all semester long...
Anyway, he and Patrick did an awesome doubles poem, a collaborative effort.
Awards were little plastic trophy cups with their names and the award category written on masking tape wrapped around the base, as well as a pick of sundry dollar store treats.
I worry I am destined to always screw something up with my Writing 12 class... Last year was just the year of student apathy, which lead to me being apathetic. The year before was just sort of a gong-show... My first year was pretty good. This year I had awesome kids, and I think we had a good first and second term, but I think I fucked up and dropped the ball third term. I don't know what's wrong with me sometimes...
