This doesn't really have anything to do with my day today. I went to school, went to colorguard practice where we set the dates for a couple performances. I wish graphics class could move ahead a couple weeks so we can start the actual fun stuff and learning rather than eye safety.

By the way, English can go and burn or die. I hate English class with all my might!!!

When I came home today I did absolutly nothing. Go me!

Students had a chance to experiment with feather pens and ink to create medieval calligraphy in an English class.

I went to Carolina's english class to help out. It was so much fun! I had to pretend that I didn't understand Spanish at all, and anyone who speaks a second language knows it is very hard to pretend not to understand! The kids were great! They asked tons of questions and were really excited about the chance to practice English!

Dana wrote some awesome poetry and walked away with both Best Worst Poem: Female Solo (which I think was a poem entitled "Clitoris" -- I mean, I think that was its title!) and Best Worst Teen Angst Poem for a poem that was a tongue-in-cheek yearning poem for her Writing 12 teacher (uh, yeah, I guess that would be me). This was not the first time Dana had written some great poetry for our class. In fact, Dana's work and attitude toward the course this year was so kick-ass that she received the Writing 12 course award for the year.

She was also the only kid today to come in a beret and red scarf for the Best Worst Poetry Club.

Okay, I know this is kinda freaky... but still I like it somehow ;)

and okay, I know I upload stuff once in a century... but still I love flickr :p

So this here is my friend Joan writing dictation on a text of John F Ross' "What is Really Risky?" :) okay, I don't know what it was about because I didn't listen it at all ;) but don't blame me - I was playing with the camera, you see! :p

Status of Forces Agreement personnel introduce themselves during an English class Nov. 5 at the Aeon Rycom Mall in Chatan, Okinawa, Japan. The class provided Okinawa residents with an opportunity to interact and improve their English through conversation with native English speakers. During the class, SOFA members divided into groups with the students, played word games and discussed American and Japanese vernacular. After the introductions, SOFA volunteers and students ate lunch and shopped together before returning to the classroom to discuss what they had learned.
