In its grand finale, the Hydrangea 'Early Evolution' has evolved to an exquisite beauty - creamy white petals have developed into a lovely rose hue.
I'm still playing with the new Text 2 Dream feature of Deep Dream Generator. I'm finding that I use it at a very low percentage which allows my original photo to show through, embellished only by Text 2 Dream, and then polished with Topaz Studio. My primary focus is the enhancement of my own photography, not something totally conjured up by AI.

Enduring very heavy winds that are distorting facial feathers. Hawk Owls will often endure very strong, cold winds but I have also seen them fly into the woods to escape really extreme cold with strong winds (i.e. very high windchills).

After enduring periods of heavy rain, I finally got some nice opportunities of this rare visitor. We waited for long periods of time for him to make returns . Getting somewhat clean captures was the challenge and making sure the white details weren't blown out. Really nice to get this lifer.

A cold rainy day with a few snow flurries thrown in made for a miserable day for the birds! This Queen Cardinal endured it rather stoically I think. No snow today as it's supposed to get up to 80' F. Too hot for me! Although, I know that by the end of August this temperature will seem cool to me!
Nothing is enduring and we are always in a position to improve. Some things are so old that they are not even touched, they are abandoned and these sad images remain, which hurt us but it is progress.

Stately old late Victorian era brick home on the river bluff above Clarksville Missouri. Over a hundred and forty years old, it’s hand laid limestone rock foundation still holds the brick walls square and erect after all these years.
This tough Rowan hangs on every year in the Quiraing in the north east of the Isle Of Skye against all the odds.
After enduring on and off again rain, we were finally rewarded with a touch of color for a brief while before we left for the day. This is not a sunset, as it was at least an hour or so before. It was more like the sun was trying hard to penetrate the heavily overcast sky.
This was a really hard one to pull out of the mostly under exposed Raw file. I was pushing the limits of my little XTI, so don't look too close... ;)

The rituals of the Rumi's followers (Whirling Dervishes) are among the enduring as well as the most exquisite ceremonies of spirituality.
The ritual whirling of the dervishes is an act of love and a drama of faith. It possesses a highly structured form within which the gentle turns become increasingly dynamic as the individual dervishes strive to achieve a state of trans.
The music that accompanies the whirling from beginning to end ranges from somber to rhapsodical; its effect is intended to be mesmerizing.
Chanting of poetry, rhythmic rotation, and incessant music create a synthesis which, according to the faithful, induces a feeling of soaring, of ecstasy, of mystical flight.
My wonderful and enduring purple clematis. It lives in a pot - and has been taken indoors some winters, left out in the shed others, and several times it has been abandoned to the elements as well past its best. But each year it resurrects, and starts growing, determined, in its pot! Here it is enjoying warmth and sunshine yet again!

Thundering across a log bridge over the Chemainus River is Locomotive No. 4, an 80-ton Porter 2-6-2T, once the pride of the Victoria Lumber & Manufacturing Co. Ltd.’s Copper Canyon Railway System.
Chemainus was the delivery point of the first, the last, and the longest enduring rail logging operation in BC.
The original mural was destroyed when the building was demolished. It rose again; windows and the air conditioner were painstakingly filled in; new technology was used to recreate it, and the mural moved to its present location in 2017. Artist: Paul Marcano.

Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia, located along a trade route between the northern Adriatic Sea and the Danube region, north of the country's largest marsh, inhabited since prehistoric times. It is the country's cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative center.
The exact origin of the name Ljubljana is unclear. In medieval times, both the river and the town were also called Laibach in German. This name was used within the region until 1918 and continues to be used in German. In Italian, the city is referred to as Lubiana, and in Latin, it is known as Labacum.
The German name was first documented in 1144, and the Slovenian form appeared in records as early as 1146. The 10th-century work "Life of Gregentios" provides the Greek variant Λυπλιανές (Lyplianes) and situates it among the Avars in the 6th century. This account is influenced by an earlier northern Italian source written shortly after the conquest of 774.
The connection between the Slovene and German names has posed a puzzle for scholars. In 2007, linguist Tijmen Pronk, an authority in comparative Indo-European linguistics and Slovene dialectology from the University of Leiden, provided strong support for the theory that the Slavic ljub- meaning "to love, like" was the most likely origin. He argued that the river's name likely stemmed from the settlement's name. Silvo Torkar, a linguist with expertise in Slovene names, put forth the idea that Ljubljana's name has its roots in "Ljubija", the original name of the Ljubljanica River. This can be traced back to the Old Slavic male name "Ljubovid", which translates to "the one with a lovely appearance". Torkar also asserted that the name "Laibach" is a combination of German and Slovene, sharing its origins with the same personal name.
Prešeren Square (Slovene: Prešernov trg) is the central square in Ljubljana. It is part of the old town's pedestrian zone and a major meeting point where festivals (like the annual Ljubljana Dragon Carnival), concerts, sports, political events, and protests take place. It was redesigned according to plans by Edvard Ravnikar from a funnel-shaped to a circular form in 1987–88 and renovated in 2007.
The Triple Bridge (Slovene: Tromostovje, in older sources also Tromostje) comprises three bridges spanning the Ljubljanica River. It connects the historical medieval town on the southeastern bank with the central Prešeren Square on the northwestern bank. Dating back to the 13th century, it stands as the oldest bridge in Ljubljana. In the early 1930s, the architect Jože Plečnik redesigned and expanded it. In August 2021, the Triple Bridge was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of Plečnik's enduring legacy.
It seems this swing set has been around forever -- but the rope, the knots, and the bright yellow swings themselves seem as strong as ever. This seemed especially so after a recent rain.
Angkor Thom, located in present-day Cambodia, was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer Empire. It was established in the late twelfth century by King Jayavarman VII. It covers an area of 9 km², within which are located several monuments from earlier eras as well as those established by Jayavarman and his successors. Also known as the Tonle Om Gate, the South Gate is one of the five ancient gates that date back to the 12th century, providing access through the 8-meter-high laterite walls of Angkor Thom. It features the best-preserved causeway, demonstrating the original architectural intent to impress and overwhelm. In its time, crossing this gate would have been akin to entering the domain of the gods, a sentiment that still resonates today. (Nomads Travel Guide)

I did not know much about the temples of Cambodia and had not realized just how many there were. As we approached the South Gate of Angkor Thom, I discovefed that there had been a thriving civilization capable of building temples on par with those of the incas and aztecs. This first view of the gate, reflected in the moat surrounding the entire Angkor Thom city was amazing and introduced me to a whole new world.

Angkor Thom was established as the capital of Jayavarman VII's empire, and was the centre of his massive building programme. One inscription found in the city refers to Jayavarman as the groom and the city as his bride.:121
Angkor Thom seems not to be the first Khmer capital on the site, however. Yasodharapura, dating from three centuries earlier, was centred slightly further northwest, and Angkor Thom overlapped parts of it. The most notable earlier temples within the city are the former state temple of Baphuon, and Phimeanakas, which was incorporated into the Royal Palace. The Khmers did not draw any clear distinctions between Angkor Thom and Yashodharapura: even in the fourteenth century an inscription used the earlier name.:138 The name of Angkor Thom—great city—was in use from the 16th century.
The last temple known to have been constructed in Angkor Thom was Mangalartha, which was dedicated in 1295. Thereafter the existing structures continued to be modified from time to time, but any new creations were in perishable materials and have not survived.
The Ayutthaya Kingdom, led by King Borommarachathirat II, sacked Angkor Thom, forcing the Khmers under Ponhea Yat to relocate their capital southeast.:29
Angkor Thom was abandoned some time prior to 1609, when an early western visitor wrote of an uninhabited city, "as fantastic as the Atlantis of Plato".:140 It is believed to have sustained a population of 80,000–150,000 people.

Cinnamon had a Vet appointment yesterday. She wanted me to thank everyone for their love & concern. Her insulin dosage has to increase, yet again, but she’s enduring it. She has a halo device (to prevent her from running into things as much) for her blindness.
After enduring a 36-hour snow storm on the second day of spring, we get dug out and head off to our local diner. The sky was so gorgeous, so blue, eight inches of snow disappearing before our eyes. It was as if Mother Nature was saying "I was only kidding"....
This is the fifth of eight in our diner adventures for this year, and it is all decked out like a proper 50's eatery. Lots of color and shine, it could have been from Happy Days. It was my first time here, tho my son goes on a regular basis, and we vote yea......
