In its grand finale, the Hydrangea 'Early Evolution' has evolved to an exquisite beauty - creamy white petals have developed into a lovely rose hue.
I'm still playing with the new Text 2 Dream feature of Deep Dream Generator. I'm finding that I use it at a very low percentage which allows my original photo to show through, embellished only by Text 2 Dream, and then polished with Topaz Studio. My primary focus is the enhancement of my own photography, not something totally conjured up by AI.

A little stone house in the hills of the Ozarks....you’ve seen it before, and I’m sure you’ll see it again. It was one of my very first “house portraits” and is a special favorite of mine. It has endured the harshness of winter and the storms and tornadoes of spring. Blistering summers have weathered its doors and windows. Fall reveals how the other seasons have ravaged this sturdy little home. I’ll do my part and will continue to take photos every time I pass by....
Not so much obvious manipulation in this version, but despite many changes and manipulation, the image refused to move beyond this point:)

Northern Cardinal waiting for a break in the weather.
Thank you so much for the visit!
Enjoy you week, my friends...
After enduring periods of heavy rain, I finally got some nice opportunities of this rare visitor. We waited for long periods of time for him to make returns . Getting somewhat clean captures was the challenge and making sure the white details weren't blown out. Really nice to get this lifer.
If you can create a carefully executed image so that your understanding of the subject comes together with the ephemeral qualities of the moment, it can create something that has more resonance, and can be more enduring, than all those thousands of fleeting impressions :-)

Our weather like most of Europe is very unpredictable, gales and lots of rain in July after the heat of June. I am happy to say we do not have the heat our friends in Italy Greece and Spain are enduring. I hope everyone is safe and well. The picture was captured last weekend during a very windy spell on the Cumbrian coast.
A cold rainy day with a few snow flurries thrown in made for a miserable day for the birds! This Queen Cardinal endured it rather stoically I think. No snow today as it's supposed to get up to 80' F. Too hot for me! Although, I know that by the end of August this temperature will seem cool to me!
Nothing is enduring and we are always in a position to improve. Some things are so old that they are not even touched, they are abandoned and these sad images remain, which hurt us but it is progress.
Nada es perdurable y siempre estamos en la posición de mejorar. Algunas cosa son tan viejas , que ni se tocan , se abandonan y quedan estas tristes imágenes, que nos duelen pero es el progreso .

Nineteen years ago Laura and I wed. I have seen so many couples breaking up lately,,, So many families crumbling away. So much love wasted. So let me celebrate the beauty of enduring love - a life-giving light that every day rises and spreads its warmth over our lives.
Thank you Laura... Life is not always an easy travel, and we are not a perfect, romance couple. But you are the gift which makes everything else worthy living.

I have watched the documentary 'Nothing compares to you' about Sinead O'Connor.
An exploration of Sinead O'Connor's rise and fall and her enduring cultural impact. By the age of 20, O'Connor was one of Ireland's brightest rising stars but her decision to use her fame as a platform to speak out on a number of controversial issues shifted her narrative from global stardom to worldwide condemnation. In a new interview, O'Connor reveals the abusive upbringing that left her feeling betrayed by both church and community and ultimately led her to find the therapeutic power of music.

After enduring on and off again rain, we were finally rewarded with a touch of color for a brief while before we left for the day. This is not a sunset, as it was at least an hour or so before. It was more like the sun was trying hard to penetrate the heavily overcast sky.

The rituals of the Rumi's followers (Whirling Dervishes) are among the enduring as well as the most exquisite ceremonies of spirituality.
The ritual whirling of the dervishes is an act of love and a drama of faith. It possesses a highly structured form within which the gentle turns become increasingly dynamic as the individual dervishes strive to achieve a state of trans.
The music that accompanies the whirling from beginning to end ranges from somber to rhapsodical; its effect is intended to be mesmerizing.
Chanting of poetry, rhythmic rotation, and incessant music create a synthesis which, according to the faithful, induces a feeling of soaring, of ecstasy, of mystical flight.
My wonderful and enduring purple clematis. It lives in a pot - and has been taken indoors some winters, left out in the shed others, and several times it has been abandoned to the elements as well past its best. But each year it resurrects, and starts growing, determined, in its pot! Here it is enjoying warmth and sunshine yet again!

As the last light of day reflects off the grave makers of our Veteran’s that so honorably served our county; it seems fitting that from where they lie, they can watch over those they protected who are unsuspectingly driving by, and get to look out over a western horizon ...to a colorfully warm sun-setting sky.

We turn away to face the cold, enduring chill
As the day begs the night for mercy love
The sun so bright it leaves no shadows
Only scars carved into stone
On the face of earth
The moon is up and over One Tree Hill
We see the sun go down in your eyes
You run like river, on like a sea
You run like a river runs to the sea
And in the world a heart of darkness
A fire zone
Where poets speak their heart
Then bleed for it
Jara sang, his song a weapon
In the hands of love
You know his blood still cries
From the ground
It runs like a river runs to the sea
It runs like a river to the sea
I don't believe in painted roses
Or bleeding hearts
While bullets rape the night of the merciful
I'll see you again
When the stars fall from the sky
And the moon has turned red
Over One Tree Hill

Made from a digital photography from my portfolio, a digitally painted watercolor painting unveils the picturesque scene of an inner street within the fortified city of Carcassonne. The brushstrokes capture the essence of this historical location, where narrow cobblestone streets wind their way amidst ancient stone structures. The painting portrays a vibrant atmosphere teeming with life as tourists amble along the meandering lanes, enchanted by the allure of the medieval architecture that surrounds them.
The focal point of the artwork is the beautiful yellowish stone buildings, standing tall with their two-story structures, proudly displaying the marks of centuries gone by. The textured strokes of the brush bring life to the aged walls, highlighting their unique character and weathered charm. The warm hues of the stone reflect the sun's gentle caress, creating a harmonious interplay of light and shadow across the canvas.
The street itself appears alive, bustling with activity. The artist's attention to detail showcases the diversity of the passersby, their clothing and accessories hinting at various cultures and backgrounds. Curious tourists explore every nook and cranny, their eyes drawn to the intricate architectural details that adorn the buildings. Balconies adorned with potted plants overflow with vivid blooms, providing a splash of color against the ancient stone backdrop.
As the eye wanders deeper into the painting, the narrowness of the streets becomes apparent. The use of perspective creates an illusion of depth, guiding the viewer's gaze deeper into the heart of the city. Delicate shadows cast by the overhead sunlight dance along the street, adding a sense of movement and capturing the fleeting nature of the moment.
In this captivating watercolor, we are transported to a bygone era, where the fusion of history and everyday life creates a timeless charm. Invite us to stroll through the streets of Carcassonne, to admire the enduring beauty of its medieval architecture, and to become captivated by the unique atmosphere that emanates from every stone and passerby.

view of Ljubljanski Grad (Ljubljana Castle), Tromostovje (Triple Bridge) and old town from Prešernov Trg (Prešeren Square)
Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia, located along a trade route between the northern Adriatic Sea and the Danube region, north of the country's largest marsh, inhabited since prehistoric times. It is the country's cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative center.
The exact origin of the name Ljubljana is unclear. In medieval times, both the river and the town were also called Laibach in German. This name was used within the region until 1918 and continues to be used in German. In Italian, the city is referred to as Lubiana, and in Latin, it is known as Labacum.
The German name was first documented in 1144, and the Slovenian form appeared in records as early as 1146. The 10th-century work "Life of Gregentios" provides the Greek variant Λυπλιανές (Lyplianes) and situates it among the Avars in the 6th century. This account is influenced by an earlier northern Italian source written shortly after the conquest of 774.
The connection between the Slovene and German names has posed a puzzle for scholars. In 2007, linguist Tijmen Pronk, an authority in comparative Indo-European linguistics and Slovene dialectology from the University of Leiden, provided strong support for the theory that the Slavic ljub- meaning "to love, like" was the most likely origin. He argued that the river's name likely stemmed from the settlement's name. Silvo Torkar, a linguist with expertise in Slovene names, put forth the idea that Ljubljana's name has its roots in "Ljubija", the original name of the Ljubljanica River. This can be traced back to the Old Slavic male name "Ljubovid", which translates to "the one with a lovely appearance". Torkar also asserted that the name "Laibach" is a combination of German and Slovene, sharing its origins with the same personal name.
Prešeren Square (Slovene: Prešernov trg) is the central square in Ljubljana. It is part of the old town's pedestrian zone and a major meeting point where festivals (like the annual Ljubljana Dragon Carnival), concerts, sports, political events, and protests take place. It was redesigned according to plans by Edvard Ravnikar from a funnel-shaped to a circular form in 1987–88 and renovated in 2007.
The Triple Bridge (Slovene: Tromostovje, in older sources also Tromostje) comprises three bridges spanning the Ljubljanica River. It connects the historical medieval town on the southeastern bank with the central Prešeren Square on the northwestern bank. Dating back to the 13th century, it stands as the oldest bridge in Ljubljana. In the early 1930s, the architect Jože Plečnik redesigned and expanded it. In August 2021, the Triple Bridge was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of Plečnik's enduring legacy.
It seems this swing set has been around forever -- but the rope, the knots, and the bright yellow swings themselves seem as strong as ever. This seemed especially so after a recent rain.
Angkor Thom, located in present-day Cambodia, was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer Empire. It was established in the late twelfth century by King Jayavarman VII. It covers an area of 9 km², within which are located several monuments from earlier eras as well as those established by Jayavarman and his successors. At the centre of the city is Jayavarman's state temple, the Bayon, with the other major sites clustered around the Victory Square immediately to the north. (Wikipedia)
Also known as the Tonle Om Gate, the South Gate is one of the five ancient gates that date back to the 12th century, providing access through the 8-meter-high laterite walls of Angkor Thom. It features the best-preserved causeway, demonstrating the original architectural intent to impress and overwhelm. In its time, crossing this gate would have been akin to entering the domain of the gods, a sentiment that still resonates today. (Nomads Travel Guide)

I did not know much about the temples of Cambodia and had not realized just how many there were. As we approached the South Gate of Angkor Thom, I discovefed that there had been a thriving civilization capable of building temples on par with those of the incas and aztecs. This first view of the gate, reflected in the moat surrounding the entire Angkor Thom city was amazing and introduced me to a whole new world.

Map of Central Angkor Thom
Angkor Thom was established as the capital of Jayavarman VII's empire, and was the centre of his massive building programme. One inscription found in the city refers to Jayavarman as the groom and the city as his bride.:121
Angkor Thom seems not to be the first Khmer capital on the site, however. Yasodharapura, dating from three centuries earlier, was centred slightly further northwest, and Angkor Thom overlapped parts of it. The most notable earlier temples within the city are the former state temple of Baphuon, and Phimeanakas, which was incorporated into the Royal Palace. The Khmers did not draw any clear distinctions between Angkor Thom and Yashodharapura: even in the fourteenth century an inscription used the earlier name.:138 The name of Angkor Thom—great city—was in use from the 16th century.
The last temple known to have been constructed in Angkor Thom was Mangalartha, which was dedicated in 1295. Thereafter the existing structures continued to be modified from time to time, but any new creations were in perishable materials and have not survived.
The Ayutthaya Kingdom, led by King Borommarachathirat II, sacked Angkor Thom, forcing the Khmers under Ponhea Yat to relocate their capital southeast.:29
Angkor Thom was abandoned some time prior to 1609, when an early western visitor wrote of an uninhabited city, "as fantastic as the Atlantis of Plato".:140 It is believed to have sustained a population of 80,000–150,000 people.
