I use peanut and other nut butters and pastes wherever fats occur in recipes, and where their emulsifying power is useful.
Take a simple butter biscuit recipe, rich with egg yolks, and replace some of the fat with almond butter. Suddenly the flavour goes from familiar and British towards something like the Xixona or soft style of Spanish Turrón.

There are several ways for a visitor to enter Hotel Hotel, the latest addition to Canberra’s remarkably skimpy selection of boutique accommodation offerings. Those looking for a dramatic entry, though, would be best to take the stairs. Here, more than 2150 pieces of recycled timber whoosh up the walls, forming a carapace that somehow manages to be both rustic and baroque, high-tech and low-tech, simple and mind-achingly complex. It makes plodding up the stairs feel a little bit like a jump to hyperspace in the Millennium Falcon – just swap speed-distended strips of starlight for frozen battens of timber offcuts.
The staircase, designed by March Studio, is just one piece of many in the Hotel Hotel puzzle. More architects, designers and creative consultants have had their hand in this knotty concern than it is possible to list, a pluralism that extends to the project’s agenda, which touches on everything from sustainability to urbanism, arts patronage and community development to architecture and design. The force that threads all of this together, though, is a commercial one, which produces contradictions as well as complexity.

After launching up the stairs, the visitor finds themselves in the vaguely subterranean hotel lobby proper, surrounded by furniture and objects specially developed for it by Broached Commissions and designed by the likes of Lucy McRae, Adam Goodrum and Charles Wilson. These items share space with mid-century furniture pieces selected by Hotel Hotel’s room designer Don Cameron. Fender Katsalidis Architects and Japan’s Suppose Design Office designed the Nishi building proper, and March Studio is responsible for much of the lobby. That makes for a lot of “chefs in the kitchen,” with more unmentioned, but the various strands of the design do somehow emulsify into a single, coherent experience.

A lotion is a combination of oil in water or water in oil, with an emulsifier and/or stabilizer. Based on ancient and modern formulas, in this version, my Infused Oil, with up to 20 different healing herbs, is combined with aloe vera juice, to reduce inflammations and sooth skin. Coconut oil included for higher viscosity, as well as bioavailable Vitamin E. Palmarosa oil moisturizes the skin, while balancing the hydration levels and stimulating cell regeneration. GSE is used as a preservative and locally sourced beeswax as a stabilizer. Unlike most lotions, I have ensured that this product is totally vegetarian.

Bacon is not my thing, per se, at least insofar as, once you've had the AUTHENTIC product, it's difficult to return to the imposter.
By AUTHENTIC, I mean to refer to what some folks call "slab" bacon, which is smoked, and dried, so that the uncooked slab of bacon needs NO REFRIGERATION, and is often found hanging in the open in the grocer's meat section.
This product is what some call "streaky bacon," which is what the English call this type of American-produced bacon.
Now, remember... before refrigeration came along, the preservation of meats was done primarily by smoking, and curing — and THAT was a technique learnt from the Native Americans in the earliest days of American history, i.e., by the colonists at Jamestown, Plymouth, etc.
That is also why, when the first enduring “snap” of winter, i.e., COLD weather, came along, it was called “hog killing weather,” because the cool, even cold temperatures largely delayed (retarded), if not temporarily prevented, spoilage (as rancidness, referring to an oxidized, deteriorated state of fat), and deterioration (rotting) of the uncooked flesh. Lard would be rendered (changed in character) from fat, which is accomplished by heating it, most typically in a large cauldron suspended over an open fire, to melt it.
EVERY PART of the hog would be used, which how the phrase “everything but the squeal” originated. The fat, the jowl, the hock, the ham, the loin, the back strap, the trotters (feet), the ears, the liver, the heart, stomach, snout, skin, and even the intestines (chitlins, or chitterlings), were ALL used as some sort of food item.
Nowadays, the meat is processed wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am with numerous godforsaken chemicals, soaked in brine, injected with water and chemicals that make it soak up water (that's bordering on fraud, to pump water into meat, or use chemicals to cause it to absorb water to increase its weight), injected with preservatives, nitrates (often as celery powder), nitrites (agents that interact with the hemoglobin naturally present in pork (blood in the flesh) that cause it to have an unnaturally red, or pink appearance and which eventually become nitrosamines, known carcinogenic compounds causative of stomach, bladder, colorectal, and breast cancers, vacuum packed, thrown in a refrigerator, and rushed to market.
Just read the labels sometimes, and look up things like sodium erythorbate (an anti-oxidant, color fixative, cure accelerator and synthetic variation of ascorbic acid, aka vitamin C), sodium phosphate — used to help meat retain moisture, and prevent development of rancid odor from the fat (which is deteriorating, or else it wouldn't be added), HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) which is metabolized differently than sucrose (table sugar) and known to cause weight gain and Type II diabetes, sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) which is an inorganic hydrophilic (attracts & retains water) emulsifier, and is even used in detergents, etc.
When cooked or broken down in the stomach, nitrites form nitrosamines (aka N-Nitroso Compound), which are known carcinogens, particularly among young children and pregnant women.
The USDA limits addition of nitrites (as sodium nitrite) in food to 200 parts per million. The thinking, or hope, is, that by adding ascorbic acid (aka sodium erythorbate, the synthetic form of vitamin C) to the processed food, it allegedly reduces formation of nitrosamines, though there is no conclusive scientific evidence proving it.
The addition of sodium nitrate is limited, whereas the addition of celery powder is unlimited, and is considered “organic.” Neither celery powder nor celery salt is regulated by the USDA, but chemically processed sodium nitrate is.
Nitrate residue on processed foods using “natural” sources of nitrates (such as celery powder), is often at least 10 times HIGHER than that found on traditionally cured products.
Essentially, it’s a bait-and-switch shell game — a culinary con game, and the consumer is the mark.
But to add insult to injury, today's hogs are NOT what they once were — the heritage breeds our grandparents may have raised, which are now endangered — ones prized and bred for their dark flavorful meat, and for fat. Today's factory farm-grown, factory-mass produced and processed, pork is lean, light-colored pink, grows rapidly, is slaughtered around at or just under 300 pounds weight, and has little-to-no resemblance of heritage swine.
There is NO craftsmanship, NO pride taken in producing a high-quality, pristine product. It’$ ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Get all you can, any way you can, while you can.
Or, as my now-late father said, “‘Get all you can, can all you get, and sit on the rest’ is NOT a good rule of life.”
"Unappetizing" is NOT the word. It's just wretched. Purely wretched.
If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right the FIRST TIME, and there is NO SUBSTITUTE for AUTHENTIC slab smoked & dry cured bacon. Perfection CANNOT be rushed, and there are NO SHORTCUTS to quality.
The Old School method uses salt, to draw water OUT, sugar to sweeten and counterbalance the salt, and is hung in a smokehouse where it is exposed to smoke, smoke, smoke, smoke, smoke, and more smoke, to finish it. And in that process, it WILL lose water, some weight, and increase the intensity of flavor... the characteristic "bacon" flavor that is so highly desirable.
And allow me to say this, about that:
I cook using that type bacon, and there is UTTERLY NO COMPARISON WHATSOEVER. The aromatic fragrance of smoked bacon IMMEDIATELY wafts throughout the house, in whatever it's used to season. And the flavor... is inimitable.
Plus, I've noticed CONSISTENTLY with ANY "rapid cure" bacon that, there is, as it's cooked, a characteristic smell that emanates therefrom, which I can only describe as nauseating, and which borders on a putrid mixture of rotting carcass, and vomitus.
Not pleasant.
Authentic, dry cured, smoked bacon is NOT that way. It has an aromatic fragrance that, when first encountered, is relaxing, and delightfully soothing.
So no... I do NOT "hate" bacon, though I utterly loathe and detest the seemingly innumerable modern imposters.
I am ALL FOR THE AUTHENTIC, the GENUINE, the ORIGINAL.
Tea saponin is triterpenoid saponin substance abstracted from wild camellia fruit. The product tastes bitter and spicy. It stimulates mucous membrane of nose to lead to sneeze. The pure product is fine white column-shape crystalloid with strong moisture absorption ability. It presents apparent acidity to methyl red and is hard to be dissolved in non-water methanol, non-water ethanol, and cannot be dissolved in organic dissolvent like acetone, benzene and petroleum ehter. It's easy to be dissolved in water, water-contained methanol, water-contained ethanol, glacial acetic acid, acetic anhydride and pyridine etc. The saponin is easy to deposit when tea saponin is added with muriatic acid. Its melting point: 224.

Application
The environment-protection type pesticide agent produced with the main body of tea saponin can be widely applied in insecticide and antiseptic to increase effects, dissolution and reduce toxin. Meanwhile, it's also a good organic pesticide on the account of the function of tea saponin and biotin and can stimulate the growing crops. The special pesticide made of tea saponin has effective eliminative function for cutworm, angleworm and eelworm without any soil pollution for environmental protection.
The application of tea saponin in aquatic and livestock breeding industry
The feedstuff additive made of tea saponin is effective substitute antibiotic and can reduce the diseases for both humans and animals so as to improve the whole aquatic breeding industry and eventually bring healthy meat for people.
Regarding the shrimp breeding, tea saponin can prevent the black-gill shrimp disease and control parasites as well as improve the ecdysis and growing. It can be made for pond-cleaning agent on the account of hemolysis and fish poison functions (3ppm will bring good effects) in order to kill harmful fish but no harm to shrimp (safe concentration is 20ppm). In livestock breeding, it can reduce the level of cholesterol inside the animals and develop low-cholesterol animal products.
The application of tea saponin in building industry
Tea saponin can be used as foaming agent and foam-stabilization agent in air-added concrete production. It has the degrease function and can improve aluminum spreading suspended character, enhance the stability of concrete setting, improve the air-hole structure to make the products firmer and more reliable. The effects are much better than honeylocust powder and nekal. The strong emulsification and dispersing can be applied to the production of paraffin emulsification agent which has been successively used in the fiberboard gel crafts and apparently reduces the moisture absorption of products and increases the waterproof capability and the fiberboard quality.
Tea saponin can also be used in sensitization, beer industries and anti-corruption production with wider and wider application range.
The application of tea saponin in daily-use chemical industry
The surface activation of tea saponin can be used for production of hair-washing agent such shampoo etc. It has good effects for hair washing, protection and inflammation diminishing and scurf elimination. Tea saponin can also be used for washing clothes and will not reduce color or shrink and therefore the textile will not lose luster.
The application of tea saponin in medicine
Tea saponin has apparent characteristics of anti-leakage and anti-inflammation. During the primary period of inflammation, it can normalize the permeating of capillary vessel; regulate blood sugar content, reduce cholesterol content, prevent cardiovascular disease; it has cough-relieving function and can cure the old people's bronchitis and various edema; it can also eliminate bacteria and restrain white monilia albicans, escherichia coli; it can also restrain the alcohol absorption, increase the alcohol dissolution so that it can be used for sobering up after being drunk.

The video shows the formation of a perfectly mono-dispersed micro-emulsion. The chloroform droplets are produced by an array of microchannels in a glass chip, which is visible in the upper half of the video. All droplets are exactly at the same size (30um) which can be appreciated by the perfectly uniform falling speed, creating a curtain like image. This effect allows us to assess the size distribution of a feature that is almost too small to see for the naked eye without microscopic enlargement.
The droplets contain chloroform and 4% polycaprolactone (PCL) and are emulsified into water. In a later stage, the chloroform is dissolved, resulting in perfectly size controlled, 10um PCL particles. These particles are biodegradable and can be used for controlled drug administration, resulting in perfectly controlled drug release due to their uniform size.

These portraits constitute the only painted portraits of individuals in the Classical style to have survived from antiquity. Found only in Egypt, they are often called "Faiyum portraits" because the majority have been found in the cemeteries of the Faiyum, a lakes side oasis west of the Nile,about 50 miles south of Cairo. They had a specific purpose, to cover the head of the mummified individual represented in the portrait. Typically they were painted onto wooden panel, less frequently they were painted on linen shrouds, that covered the mummy.

400 gram kacang, cincang kasar, panggang hingga wangi dan keemasan (aku pake 200 gram almond + 200 gram kenari)
120 gr terigu protein rendah, bisa ditambah jd 140 gr
2 sdt baking powder
1/2 sdt garam
2 sachet (8 gr) kopi instan, larutkan dengan beberapa tetes air panas
900 gram coklat bittersweet (waktu HBH pake Tulip yang bittersweet --bukan yang DCC biasa ya. Rasa kue ini ditentuin 99% oleh rasa coklat yang dipake, jadi pake coklat yang betul2 enak. Favoritku: Van Houten yang button 100% cocoa butter)
Cat: Aku pake coklat Lindt yang mahal tea untung dapet dikasih
120 gram unsalted butter atau margarine
400 or 350 gram gula pasir,
8 butir telur
2 sdm vanila ekstrak
300 gram chocolate chips dark
175 gram white chocolate chips , kagak usah pake
1.Lelehkan coklat bersama mentega, sisihkan.
2.Campur terigu dan baking powder.
3.Kocok telur, gula, garam dan vanila, hingga kental.
4.Masukkan coklat+butter leleh, aduk rata. Masukkan kopi, aduk rata. Ayakkan terigu+BP, aduk asal tercampur. Masukkan kacang panggang dan kedua macam chocolate chips, aduk.
5.Tutup mangkuk dengan plastik lengket, dinginkan di kulkas lk 30-60 menit jam hingga adonan mudah disekop.
6.Panaskan oven 180 derajat celcius.
7.Sekop atau sendokkan adonan ke atas loyang yang sudah dialasi parchment paper atau silicone mat. Biar sama dan bentuknya bagus, pake sekop es krim, yang kecil atau sedang sesuai selera. Beri jarak cukup lebar, karena nanti dia melebar sendiri.
8.Panggang hanya sampai bagian atasnya kering dan retak-retak saja, kurang lebih 10-12 menit. Jangan terlalu lama memanggang, nanti kering, kurang asik :)
9.Angkat, letakkan loyang di rak hingga agak dingin dan kue mengeras. Angkat kue, dinginkan sepenuhnya di atas rak.
Catatan:
- Kalau hasil kue terlalu pipih, biasanya karena adonan terlalu dingin. Biarkan di suhu ruang hingga mudah disekop tapi masih cukup kaku, lalu teruskan memanggang.

·When you found your batter is too hard to scoop, or the cookies are too flat, it means the batter is too cold to begin with. Let it stand at room temperature until it reaches right consistency, then continue baking. The cookies should not be too flat.
Untuk semuanya juga, kekentalan adonan telur juga berpengaruh di bentuk kue. Kocok telur sampai kental sekali, putih, berjejak, adonan mengalir lambat, membentuk pita besar. Kalo adonan gak mau kental, bantu dengan 1 sdt emulsifier. Suhu oven juga harus cukup panas, sehingga adonan langsung set ketika masuk oven.
Aku semuanya pake van houten –untuk alasan rasa–, kecuali chocolate chips putih (tulip).
Kalo dari sharing temen2 lain, mblebernya dipengaruhi beberapa hal: adonan telur kurang kaku/kental, oven kurang panas, dan.. penggunaan coklat merk tertentu akan beda hasilnya. So far aku sukses bikin pake Van Houten dan Tulip compound. Pake Theys noir, hasilnya enak tapi pipih bleber.

Satu hal yang pasti, adonan tidak boleh terlalu dingin. Cukup cool aja tapi sudah bisa nyempluk di loyang. Karena aku pernah coba dengan adonan yang udah semaleman di kulkas, jadinya beleber. KEtika adonan itu didiamkan beberapa lama hingga gak terlalu dingin lagi, bentuknya kembali normal lagi.
Beberapa hari yg lalu, nyoba bikin pake Varlhona 55% & coklat chipnya Selbourne yg mini campur Theys yg duo dark-white.. Simpen di lemari es sekitar 2 jam. Hasilnya enak, crispy, tapi ternyata kemanisan kudu ngurangin gulanya nih.. (tapi abis juga tuh ).
Nah, tuh dia Ke... Itu udah dikurangin 100 gram dari resep asli yang 350 gram. Hmm... ok nanti aku coba kurangin sampe 150 gram ya.. masih akan shiny gak tuh dia..
beberapa hari lalu aku nyoba bikin cookies ini.....hasilnya cukup krispi. Pemakaian tepung memang aku tambah sedikit (dari 30gr unt 1/2 resep aku tambah 5 gr). Pemakaian coklat putih aku hilangkan (karna lebih suka dark coklat chips).
Lengkapnya (aku bikin 1/2 resep) :
- terigu kunci 35 gr
- Coklat yg dilelehkan semuanya pk dark jenis couverture (aku pk belcolade)
- Gula pasir halus 100gr (dikurangi 25gr)
- Coklat chip 175 gr (wcc sama sekali ga dipake)
- Panggang dengan api 150-160C 20 menit (kondisi api oven kecil aja), Matikan oven, tunggu 5 menit pintu oven jangan dibuka, keluarkan loyang kukis....dinginkan diluar. Hasilnya krispi, mengkilat 'n udah pasti uennaakk....pollll.......
Yang lainnya sama, sesuai ukuran 1/2 resep. Kalo aku, ngocok telur + gula ga sampe lama, ckp sampe kental. Masuk semua bahan, kemaren didinginkan 3/4 jam. Cetak dengan bantuan sendok di atas parchment paper. Sengaja nyendoknya agak banyak supaya agak lebar. Ini penampakannya......thanks ya riana buat resep yang enaakk ini..........

yang bikin penasaran adalah, waktu mbak ria keluarin dari kulkas, konsistensi adonannya seperti apa ? saya waktu itu patokannya, konsistensi adonannya seperti mainan playdough yang lembut, bisa berbentuk saat di scoop, tapi lembut. saat di scoop gak butuh banyak tenaga.... mudah2an ngerti..
saya waktu itu bikin pake coklat easymelt keluaran tulip, mbak ria pake coklat apa, karena kalo dari kometar2 teman yang dah bikin, tampaknya jenis dan merk coklat memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan ke hasil akhir....
Tipsnya adalah, kemungkinan adonan telur kurang kental atau suhu oven kurang panas.

The herb Pueraria Mirifica (grown and used in Thailand for over 100 years) is rich in isoflavones, providing female hormone-like effects and significant breast enhancement for 90% of all women. A cream is a combination of oil in water or water in oil, with an emulsifier and/or stabilizer. Organic Cucumber extract is for cooling the eye area and helps to eliminate puffiness, sagging, and wrinkles. Palmarosa oil moisturizes the skin, while balancing the hydration levels and stimulating cell regeneration. GSE is used as a preservative. Saponaria officinalis is a common perennial plant from the family Caryophyllaceae. This plant has many common names,[2] including common soapwort,[3] bouncing-bet,[3] crow soap,[2] wild sweet William,[2] and soapweed.[4] There are about 20 species of soapworts altogether.
The scientific name Saponaria is derived from the Latin sapo (stem sapon-) meaning "soap", which, like its common name, refers to its utility in cleaning. From this same Latin word is derived the name of the toxic substance saponin, contained in the roots at levels up to 20 percent when the plant is flowering[5] (Indian soapnuts contain only 15 percent). It produces a lather when in contact with water. The epithet officinalis indicates its medicinal functions. It is a common host plant for some moth species, including the white-lined sphinx.[6]
Saponaria officinalis' native range extends throughout Europe, and in Asia to western Siberia. It grows in cool places at low or moderate elevations under hedgerows and along the shoulders of roadways. It can be found as a horticultural escape and noxious invasive in much of North America.[7]
Description
The plant possesses leafy, unbranched stems (often tinged with red). It grows in patches, attaining a height of 70 cm (28 in). The broad, lanceolate, sessile leaves are opposite and between 4 and 12 cm long. Its sweetly scented flowers are radially symmetrical and pink, or sometimes white. Each of the five flat petals have two small scales in the throat of the corolla. They are about 2.5 cm (1 in) wide. They are arranged in dense, terminal clusters on the main stem and its branches. The long tubular calyx has five pointed red teeth.
The individual flowers open in the evening, and stay open for about three days.[8] They produce a stronger scent at night and supplement nectar production during the night.[8] The flowers are protandrous: on the second night of blooming, the pollen is released, and the stigma develops to its final position by the third night.[8] Much of the seed production comes from self-pollination.[8] The flowers are visited by various insects including Noctuidae, Sphingidae, bumblebees, and hoverflies.[8]
In the Northern Hemisphere Saponaria officinalis blooms from May to September, and in the Southern Hemisphere October to March.
External use
As its common name implies, it can be used as a very gentle soap, usually in dilute solution. It has historically been used to clean delicate or unique textiles, especially woollen fabrics;[9] it has been hypothesized that the plant was used to treat the Shroud of Turin.[10]
A lathery liquid that has the ability to dissolve fats or grease can be procured by boiling the leaves or roots in water. Leaves are chopped, boiled, and strained; the liquid can then be used as soap.[11]
In the Romanian village of Șieu-Odorhei, natives call the plant săpunele. It is traditionally used by the villagers as a soap replacement for dry skin.[citation needed]
Internal use
An overdose can cause nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting.[citation needed][12]
Despite its toxic potential, Saponaria officinalis finds culinary use as an emulsifier in the commercial preparation of tahini[13] and in brewing to create beer with a good head. In the Middle East, the root is often used as an additive in the process of making halva. The plant is used to stabilize the oils in the mixture and to create the distinctive texture of halva.

Another new Japanese cafe on Russell St, where The Fresh Stop HK Cafe used to be. A bit brash to open right next door to Teppan San, another Japanese cafe.
Initial observations indicate a Taiwanese-run place. At least they use the kind of ramen I like! :)
I got the Tonkatsu Ramen with White Bone soup. The "white bone soup" was a poor imitation of the Kyushu-style tonkotsu soup, made with pork bones, and milky white from the emulsification of the fats. The best specimen in Melbourne is probably Tonkotsu Ramen at Momotaro Rahmen. Still, the soup was passable. The other soup options were miso, or "udon", which presumably means a clear broth.
Serving the crisp tender pork chop on the side was a good idea, that is also typical of other Taiwanese shops.
Shanny's Katsu Curry Don looks like it needed more curry sauce though. And Boon Chew's Katsu Don seemed like it was trying to preserve the crunch of the pork chops, rather than serve it the traditional way half-buried in silky scrambled eggs. Isabel, got the same as mine.
Just as well we all got the tonkatsu pork chop. It was more or less a hit!
The decor was rather interesting too. I spotted row of a splatter-shields being used as a sort of divider / ornament. Not a bad effect. See if you can spot it!

This year's $100,000 Gulfstream Navigator Award was given to Protei: Ocean Cleaning Sailing Robots presented by Gabriella Levine. Protei is a seafaring surface vessel, constructed to carry research instruments and environmental clean-up equipment autonomously over long distances on the ocean via wind power. The project was conceived in response to inefficiencies in oil spill relief efforts, and frustration with the unsustainable research and design costs of current robotic oceanic drones. Protei's mission is to provide a locally accessible, economically efficient platform for the development of ocean-cleaning data collecting robotic drones. Their goal is to harness human innovation, technological ingenuity, and creative design to preserve the integrity of natural resources.
This solution best reflects the goals of The Gulfstream Navigator Award: applicability across multiple industries to generate a positive impact on the economy and the environment. Fossil fuel emissions contribute to global warming and are the root cause of many health problems. A proven method of cleaning up these emissions is on the inlet side of the engine/boiler through the use of water in oil-emulsified fuels.
The Nonox emulsion combustion unit (ECU) is a complete emulsion fuel system containing the mixing chamber and fuel/water proportioning controls. The ECU can be switched back and forth between emulsion and straight fuel at the flick of a switch. The Nonox Fuel Emulsions System is easy to install with little or no down time for the customer, the return on the investment is typically less than a year, and on larger installations much less than that. ORISE Gel® (Boston Scientific) is one of many types of materials designed to be used for submucosal lift of polyps, adenomas, early-stage cancers or other gastrointestinal mucosal lesions prior to excision with a snare or other endoscopic device. This has become one of my favorite salads and one which I have been eating frequently this week, partly because I happened to have a lot of fresh green salad in the house. All it is is whatever greens are on hand, a boiled potato or two, and a couple of hard boiled eggs and some filets of plump delicious white anchovies. The dressing is the one I always make.
Ingredients:
salad greens
2 hard boiled eggs (or poached, which would be equally delicious)
1 large or 2 medium boiled potatoes - whatever is on hand, but I particularly like yukon gold, although this happens to be russet
white anchovy fillets (they are a luxury item for me as they can be a bit expensive, so canned anchovies are fine too)
salad dressing:
1 tsp mayo
1 tsp Dijon mustard
juice of 1/2 lemon
tbsp red wine vinegar
1/2 to 1 tsp sugar
pinch salt
few grates of black pepper
1 clove garlic crushed or minced or zested
4 or more tbsp olive oil
Whisk everything until dressing is well emulsified. Arrange salad then pour dressing all over. Alternatively it would be good to reserve a bit of the dressing to let the potatoes soak it in separately, then assemble the salad.

After numerous attempts, we finally managed to find it open!
The ramen is quite good, possibly one of the best in Melbourne. The pork in Australia doesn't seem to have the same strong, almost gamey-flavour that Japanese pork has, which made the roast pork slices and the broth a bit different. It's authenticity is confirmed by the bits of fried garlic, and the rich soup has the same "texture" as those thickened by the gelatinous pork skin and emulsified pork fast as in Japan.
The noodles are chewy and smooth, quite good indeed! And they're supposedly handmade in-house!
The toppings are slightly different with great attention to detail, for example using white sesame with tonkutsu soup and black sesame with miso soup.

A simple and easy green salad for a quick lunch on a busy Saturday. I happened to have an abundance of potatoes so I boiled some. I needed only a few for New Year's Eve entertaining, but FreshDirect sent me 2 bags of lovely organic russets. This recipe serves 4.
4 small to medium sized potatoes (Yukon Golds or russets are fine)
1 head of green leaf lettuce
1/2 package of baby spinach
Scrub and boil the potatoes until tender. Wash the greens and spin dry. Once potatoes are cool, peel and slice into rounds. Make the dressing:
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp mayo
juice of half a lemon
1 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste
olive oil
1 clove garlic
In a small bowl, add minced garlic (I like to use my Microplane grater), mayo, mustard, sugar, salt and pepper. Squeeze half a lemon through a tea strainer to catch the seeds. Whisk everything together to dissolve the sugar and salt. Add enough olive oil to emulsify. Pour everything over the sliced potatoes and leave for about 10 minutes for the potatoes to soak up the dressing.
Meanwhile, arrange the greens on a platter. Arrange the potatoes over the greens and pour the remaining dressing all over the salad. If you have plump cured anchovies, they will only add to the deliciousness. Or add capers. In fact, this is the basis of a lovely Nicoise. But if you don't have all the ingredients, don't fret! Just add whatever you like and it will be delicious and substantial, more like a luncheon salad.

We let our 7 hens free range in about 1000 SF our back yard and never feed them any store bought feed, never feed them soy... only organically or naturally grown / raised: vegetables, fruit, seeds ( flax, pumpkin, sunflower, millet, quinoa, lentil...), seaweed, worms, slugs, snails, meat and fish scraps, green grass, dandelions, and some sprouted organic whole grains (kamut, spelt, rye, oat, barley, buckwheat, red spring wheat, rice...).
Eggs from naturally raised chickens are nature’s most perfect food. They are rich in vitamins A and D, as well as choline for mental acuity in adults. Like the B vitamins, choline is a coenzyme needed for metabolism. Choline exists in all living cells, but is probably best known as a major part of lecithin--the emulsifier that keeps fats and cholesterol from clumping together in the blood.
Research shows that humans do not increase blood cholesterol levels by eating cholesterol. Rather, we increase cholesterol by eating refined processed flour, sugars and refined vegetable oils, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats and oils. Based on these findings, we should eat eggs to help reduce cholesterol because of the lecithin content and avoid the processed and dead foods that are the real cause of cholesterol.
We all need protein, but it’s not only the amount of protein that counts, it’s the variety or number of different amino acids that can be found in the proteins. There are 20 amino acids with eight of them considered essential in the diet because our bodies cannot make them. Eggs are one of the few foods containing all the essential amino acids.

Công dụng: Điều trị hữu hiệu mụn các loại: mụn trứng cá, mụn bọc, mụn mủ, đầu trắng, mụn nhọt. Liền da, không để lại sẹo, không để lại thâm.
Cách dùng:
1. Trên bao bì: Thoa lên vùng da cần điều trị. Ngày 1-2 lần nếu nhẹ. Ngày 3-4 lần nếu trường hợp nhiều mụn ửng đỏ, viêm tấy.
+ nếu bạn bị sẹo thâm lâu ngày mỗi ngày bôi 3-4 lần sẹo sẽ mờ thâm dần
+ Nếu da chỉ có mụn cám hoặc ít mụn: thoa ngày 1-2 lần, 1 lớp mỏng để ngăn ngừa mụn và giúp làn da sáng bong hơn.
+ Nếu mụn mới có hiện tượng mọc chưa sưng to: thoa lên ngày 1-2 lần (nên thoa trước khi đi ngủ)à sau 1-2 ngày da sẽ láng mịn, ko còn dấu vết mụn.
+ Nếu mụn đã sưng to: thoa đậm vào nốt mụn ngày 3-4 lần sau 5-7 ngày nốt mụn sẽ tan biến nhưng còn vết đỏ, tiếp tục thoa ngày 1-2 lần lớp mỏng sau 2 ngày da sẽ trở lại bình thường.
+ Nếu da quá nhiều mụn: Thoa thật nhiều vào vùng bị mụn ngày 3-4 lần khoảng 1 tuần các nốt mụn sẽ biến mất. Tiếp tục thoa 1 tuần nữa để xóa các vết thâm.
Đây là thuốc đặc trị mụn nên ko giống kem thông thường, ko phải kem trộn, ko phải hàng china ♥
