I have designed embroidery collections to coordinate with my fabric, from the very first one, fifteen years ago.
In each of my fourteen, Quilting, Sewing, and Bag books, I have a chapter on embroidery with a variety of examples.
I love how embroidery adds interest, color, texture, and sheen to projects.
QUILTING with M'Liss, is a Husqvarna Viking Embroidery Collection that includes coordinating, Applique, Embroidery, and Quilting patterns. The red stitched blocks in the quilt are actually "quilted" using a special hoop.
This collection includes the quilt pattern, FOCUS ON A THEME. My quilt, Elements of Style, made with an earlier fabric collection, Kimono Art II by M'Liss, and this embroidery collection.

This scarf is from a series based on the French writer Theophile Gaultier's "Paradis Artificiel" novel, mainly about the world of Bourgeois opium and dope parties...all the intoxicating hallucinations and melting into the furniture....all this wrapped up in a hand embroidered scarf!

The first steps in the establishment of a permanent public collection of fine embroidery in Arbroath was taken at the Public Library on Saturday, March 21, 1964, when an oak case, specially constructed to house the initial collection was handed over by Arbroath Embroidery Club to the Library Committee. Pictured at the ceremony in the Arbroath Room were, from left - Mr Norman Crawford, librarian; Mrs U.R. Shaw, Mrs J. Matthew, Mrs A.K. Adamson, Mr W.L. Reid and Mrs E. Patterson.
