This is the mailbox outside one of the Crystal Cove cottages in Newport Beach. Probably been empty for close to 50 years. So awesome to see Nature embracing this little man-made gem!
Embracing Asia: Taeko Tomiyama Retreospective 1950-2009. This exhibit introduces a retrospective of the artist’s work spanning nearly 60 years, dealing with the themes of coal mining, the third world, and war responsibility. An abandoned school building serves as the stage for this exhibit which examines the meaning of Japan in the present day and after the Second World War.
I really liked her stuff. She was proficient in so many different styles. A lot of the commentary was in English, but not Japanese. Interesting. Maybe too political.

Uploaded as an illustration for my Dutch blog, meant as a statement against racism which is getting stronger and stronger in The Netherlands. Nowadays, I'm ashamed being Dutch.
There is the Facebook group "We apologize for the 1.5 million Dutch people who voted Geert Wilders' PVV" and the LinkedIn group NEE tegen PVV, of which I'm a member. I hope other Dutch people will follow and make a statement against racism and/or discrimination.

This skin is long since sold out, as it was limited edition and from a year or longer ago. I wanted to show how special this skin is, how much it has an awesome retro vibe to it, but still very modern. The skin is unforgettable and has an impact. I think I stood out in the crowd pretty well in this.

I woke up this morning at sunrise after having horrible nightmares all night. I woke up in a cold sweat, heart racing and feeling as if I were dying. I got out of bed and decided I needed some cool morning air to clear my head. I walked outside and my goodness, what a beautiful sunrise I was blessed to see. I couldn't have been more at peace with the wonderful breeze, beautiful bird songs and the sweet smell of honeysuckle. I was in heaven...which was a great thing to be in after the night I had. Thank You, God.
