I paesaggi di pianura, osservati ad altezza d'uomo, appaiono composti da elementi orizzontali. Si tratta di fasce in cui si riducono per ragioni prospettiche i grandi spazi. Oppure di elementi verticali d'orizzonte, che la distanza riduce comunque in fasce cromatiche. Come in questo caso, in cui una fascia di canneto e una schiera di montiformano un paesaggio ..... ..
Un fiore di fiordaliso (Centaurea sp.) e una piccola ape nera: come a dire una "combinazione elementare", o meglio, una relazione ecologica elementare; in questo caso, di natura trofica. In questa immagine scontata, in questa relazione semplice e diretta, tuttavia, c'è la chiave stessa della vita sul Pianeta. Al punto che un Genio dell'Umanità si è spinto ad affermare che gli umani si estingueranno tre anni dopo l'estinzione delle api ..... ..

C’est une plante très printanière, qui ne fleurit qu’après sa dixième année.
Elle croît dans les bois et puisqu'elle nécessite beaucoup de soleil, il est important qu'elle complète son cycle de vie avant que les arbres aient leurs feuilles et qu'ils la plongent dans l'ombre.
L'érythrone abonde depuis le comté de Témiscouata à travers le sud et l'ouest de la province. Les forêts de conifères résineux qui ne conviennent pas à ses exigences écologiques limitent naturellement son expansion au nord et à l'est.
L'observation de l'érythrone d'Amérique fut l'élément déclencheur de la carrière botanique du frère Marie-Victorin, le fondateur du Jardin botanique de Montréal et l'auteur de la célèbre Flore Laurentienne.

During a recent brief visit to Hong Kong we walked past the Hong Kong Museum of Art. An interesting building, currently under renovation, but I was attracted by its exterior and the strong contrast with the early morning sun peeping through. An unexpected moment.

Italy – Rome 2015
We went to Italy in May 2015, stayed in the Cavour area of Rome. A fantastic holiday, the food was terrific, the people very helpful, brilliant Architecture, Gardens and Sculpture. I was in my element. This is one of many postings. Just a brilliant country to return to and we did. A series of silhouettes and shadows from the Piazza del Popolo.
In the fog and rain and dew, or in my element this morning. Happy Web Wednesday or Leaf Wednesday. Just trying to stay outside to not read news online.

I don’t know how we came across this rock exactly as my father used to collect interesting lumps of rock. We have granite from Cornwall which was going to be my first choice but the I remembered about this copper containing rock. There are circular holes in the rock so I assume that there must be a volcanic element to it tough I cannot be sure.
