Arguably the most intricate and beautiful of the collection, this piece had an immaculate layout.
This is a large collection of analog tubes.
That package "U105" is really odd. I've never seen anything like that before, and have no idea what it is. U104 is the same type of thing. Given the size of the traces and caps near them, I assume they're power-related, and that's why they have such a huge package. Maybe some sort of regulator?

My phone died recently. I think the charging circuit quit working, because it would recognize being plugged into power, but the battery never charged. It has since been replaced.
A sub-collection within my vintage radio collection. They are by Emerson, Silvertone, Truetone, RCA and GE and they all work.

To put it in "Sex and the City" terms, the 2008 Acura TSX may look more like the classy, refined Charlotte, but it can behave more like saucy Samantha -- an always-willing partner on twisty, backcountry roads. The TSX's fully loaded features list and smart electronics would even appeal to the rational, all-business Miranda. It has nothing to do with Carrie, though. She's just nuts.
Although in the final year of its product cycle before next year's redesign, the current TSX has aged as gracefully as the "Sex and the City" women. It still represents one of the best values around, as constant updates through the years have kept the TSX's standard and optional feature lists fresh. Thankfully unchanged is its excellent handling, and the TSX is still more entertaining than other entry-luxury front-drive sedans and even approaches some rear-drive models in this regard.
The TSX's familiar Achilles heel, however, continues to be its engine. The high-revving four-cylinder provides above-average fuel economy for this segment, but those looking for V6-like power delivery may find the VTEC four-cylinder tough to love. In our experience, the slick-shifting six-speed manual transmission suits the engine's demeanor better than the five-speed automatic, though dealers don't order many of these in this automatic age.
Even so, the 2008 Acura TSX exists as a happy medium in a crowded entry-level sport sedan field that stretches from the fully loaded Nissan Altima and VW Jetta GLI to the BMW 3 Series and Lexus IS 250. While there may be models that are faster, more luxurious, more fuel-efficient, better-handling and less costly than the TSX, a scant few (if any) offer such a brilliant mix of it all. Perhaps in a way, this charming little Acura would apply to Carrie -- a woman who, above all else, wants it all.
One of my complaints about modern lenses is that while plastic has made them lighter, they are frequently the size of soup cans - big ones, the kind where you don't add water. For candid shooting, I'd like something not so big and intimidating (I'm big and intimidating all by myself). To me, this is one plus of the K-01's styling - it doesn't look like a "professional camera".
At the other extreme of lens size is the tiny 40mm pancake lens, which is impressively sharp, but the 60mm effective focal length is a little long for me (that's just me - and I may get used to it).
The lens on the camera is an old 1980's manual focus M-series 28mm f/2.8. M lenses were generally small, and the cute little 28/2.8 is one of the smallest. It's effectively 42mm, which is just slightly wide-angle, and it's fairly sharp and easy to focus. I'm thinking this might be my 'street' kit.
I 'modified' the M28 to appear to the camera as an older screw-mount, so that in manual mode with Auto-ISO turned on, the camera gives a useable shutter speed and ISO without having to manually meter with the Green Button. Here's how.

this is incomplete. An ECG based on a schematic from a Wright State University lab I described here. The Green/Yellow leeds going off screen are meant to connect to eletrodes, one on the wrist and the other on the foot. (a 3rd electrode should connect to ground). The AD620 IC Op-amp on the left handles initial gain. The lead from the larger capacitor (1000uF) can be put out to an oscilloscope and you should already see a heart sine wave. atm this leed goes to the first filter (the other IC in the picture). The two white wires are supposed to be a capacitor and resistor instead, but I do not have them on hand and need to get later. Finally, the orange wire going off the board is supposed to be the final output to an oscilloscope, with high,low and dual amplification having taken place. The grey wires are for negative and positive power sources. the resistor to the far left of the breadboard, is a 220ohm which can be removed.
a little project for my lab, a mouse that knows at which distance you're from it. We would like to explore if this information could be relevant for the system e.g. to highlight the cursor when you approach your mouse or to tell background operation to interrupt in order to release CPU for interaction...
I use a LDR for the 0 to 4 cm and a Sharp 2D120 IR range finder for 4 to 50 cm. The arduino code here:

Nice thick steel panel for mounting the encoders. This makes it easier to remove the top panel without scratching things up, and also lets the whole thing take more abuse while not requiring the top panel be made of thicker material. Plus, it just looks nicer not to have the nuts showing through the top panel.
10 MPx Live MOS from Panasonic, Four Thirds System, in-body stabilization, very lightweighted and compact - and still a very good camera for every use.
I´ve purchased this "double zook kit" from it´s first owner for 240 EUR - all components in perfect shape, with two well functioning lenses, two memory cards and all accesories. The E-510 is four years old, but still really powerful in combination with the good Zuiko Digital lenses (the simple 40-150 mm telezoom is really sharp and precise, especially with portraits). Some pics will follow soon. The main advantage for me is, that the whole set weights less than the sole D7000 body I normally use, so I can take it with me everyday for some moment shots.
