I built a gadget to do long-term temperature and humidity monitoring in Nevada. Since there will be plenty of sun, the solar panel will power the circuit and trickle charge the batteries during the day, and the batteries will take over from sundown to sunrise. But there's enough power to go for about 3 days with no sunlight.
I love how the Arduino (actually the Atmel microcontrollers) blurs the line between programming and electronics.
The 2GB SD card is a bit of overkill, but it's the only one I had around. It will store over 10 years of data. :)
Ten second timer (red). Near the "Fujica" name is the shutter-aperture linkage override. Move it up and the shutter is unlinked from the aperture (for use in exposure bracketing, or backlight situations, etc.).
Upcoming project: I will be building an old English style crystal set for AM/Shortwave/Longwave. The set will be housed in a wooden box with a lid with lock and key. It will have a signal strength meter. The dials and meter will be mounted on a sheet of black acrylic (can't find phenolic sheets at an affordable price). The circuit will employ the Australian "Mystery" design because it's easy enough to be built as an oat-box crystal radio while giving high quality performance (it's called a "Mystery Set" because no one knows why it works; the design defies the laws of circuitry and yet outperforms many crystal set designs). The detector will be a 1N34A germanium diode; the pyrite detector is a dummy for looks only. I plan to use it as an AM/SW/LW tuner with my hi-fi set.

The Ciro-Flex F arrived in mid-1949 with a new f/3.2 Tessar-type lens set in an upgraded Rapax shutter. It must have arrived suddenly, as early examples such as this one lack the "Model F" identification on the depth-of-field scale.... which reads only to f/3.5 rather than f/3.2.
These are stamp and prints of capacitors, transistors, diodes, and chips! All are hand carved rubber stamps made by John of Jackbear Stamps

The FED 5 (often marked in cyrillic, with several variations of font, ФЭД 5 {upper-case} or фэд 5 {lower-case}) is a 35mm rangefinder camera produced by the FED factory in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov from 1977 until 1990. It features an uncoupled selenium light meter with a single range of sensitivity. It came equipped with the Industar-61 L/D 53mm f/2.8 standard lens incorporating the rare-earth element lanthanum and a focal-plane shutter with speeds from 1s to 1/500s + B, flash sync up to 1/30s and a self-timer.
The FED 5 is an updated FED 4, with cleaner lines to the top, a pop-up rewind knob in place of the thumb-wheel, a hot shoe, restyled film reminder/frame counter and meter rings, and the meter scale repositioned and converted from a match-needle to an EV-scaled device where the user manually transfers the meter reading to the calculator.
This fabulous vintage Zenith "COMPUTER SPACE COMMAND" is actually a TV-B-Gone in disguise.

This is part of our "from-factory-to-roll-out" photo series featuring the new PAPD patrol car of the future. This picture shows the interior of one of our actual cars as it's being built. This area of the car, more than any other, will undergo the most substantial transformation once we take possession...we'll be adding a laptop computer, mobile radios, scanners, controls for all the electronics (lights, siren, etc), our dash-cam video system, weapon mounts, and a lot more!
For those of you pay close attention to such things, the gear shift for the 2014 Caprice PPV has returned to steering column, allowing us to squeeze more equipment into the all-important center console.
A police car is essentially a mobile office for our officers, and we do our best to give them the tools they need to be efficient, safe, ergonomic, and comfortable in that workspace. The cabin of a police car, once outfitted, tends to look more like the cockpit of an airplane than the inside of a car!
We are scheduled to take delivery of our new cars next month, and then they will go through the outfitting process before ultimately hitting the streets with an all-new design scheme late in the spring.
We expect that our next photos in this "from-factory-to-roll-out" series will be of our cars arriving in the Bay Area on the ship after their voyage across the Pacific Ocean from Australia (again, the cars are built in a Holden manufacturing plant down under...Holden is a subsidiary of U.S.-based General Motors)! We call dibs on any kangaroo or koala stowaways. Stay tuned...

The Contax N1 pro camera. This is a "big hands" camera. While it's not very heavy, it takes a good grip to get around it. Shown with the equally large Vario-Sonnar 17-35mm lens that takes a whopping 95mm filter. Contax certainly was not afraid of "Going Big"! You could even mount the Contax 645 lenses via an adapter with full auto functionality. Really a well designed camera but with just a few native lenses, perhaps it's market was too much dependent on the 645 market. Also shown is the relatively diminutive 70-200mm developed primarily for the smaller NX camera.
UPDATE: The N1 and lenses have been sold. The 17-35 brought a pretty penny, the N1 next to nothing!

CANON has announced an offer for this model . you can get it for rs 55k from canon showroom and rs 53k from eBAY. Those who want to upgrade can do it now.

3D models can be used in creating animation, video games or 3D print. To use these models you will need 3D software like Autodesk 3dsmax, Maya, Softimage, Cinema4D or Lighwave. Note: these are not real phycal objects, but digital files that computer artists use in 3d computer graphics projects.
CGTrader is online platform where artist can trade or share free 3d models.
I'm quite sure I'll lose the rest of my street cred with this selfie.

On display at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum in McMinville, Oregon, here's a circuit board from one of the early rockets. It's amazing that these things even flew, let alone got us to the moon and back!

Innards of an old piece of electronic gear, part of that same stash of electronics in an old factory.
There was no bird crap on this, probably because it was on a middle shelf, but the lone feather made its way onto the tubes anyway.

My first SLR was an East-German Praktica LTL. This was my dad's camera but he had bought something newer so I could use his Praktica. The Tokina 28mm was a birthday gift (can't remember what year). At one time this also included a 200mm lens but that broke down. So in the end I had a 28, 50 and 135 mm lens system. The typical line-up at that time.
