Just a coffee and a camera.

This Tokina 16-28mm has been my superwide zoom lens of choice for my Canon 5D3 for a couple of years now. It is razor sharp and has produced some of my most popular images on my Flickr stream.

A few months back autofocus just stopped working ... I have no idea why. The lens has always been treated so well, never dropped, never exposed to bad weather, always spoken to nicely ...

Anyway, I took it into a camera shop and decided not to go down the path of getting it sent off for repair. I took this photo for my ebay listing, but thought i'd put it on my Flickr stream as a tribute! I've replaced this lens with a Canon 16-35mm f4 which is a real gem (and even sharper!).

Farewell faithful little Tokina!

A delightful gift from some friends. who brought this with them from the US. The wonderful thing about some of these old film cameras is that many will shoot without a battery, so I blew through a test roll without a battery and it works just fine.

TOW 4 "Bokeh" #1

As my topic of week 4 i choose something i very much like to shoot, this is bokeh. For this shot i put my 7dII on a tripod, chose manual focus and liveview and shot this setting with my 5dIII@f/ 2.8. f/2.8 was necessary to get the lights in the background blurred. Additionally i used a flash to illuminate the back of the 7dii, and i needed three attempts to get the correct balance between ambiance light (the bokeh in the background) and the camera.

Taken with a Nikon Df, Tamron 90mm macro, lighting: main 1 big LED panel from left up, 1 small secondary from right (to highlight some corners on the F3).

The lens on the F3 is the AF-D Nikkor 35/2.

The Buick Super is a full-sized automobile produced from the 1940 through the 1958 model years (excluding WW II); it was built on Buick's larger body shared with the Roadmaster. It and the Roadmaster were replaced by the Electra in 1959.

In 2008, Super returned as a performance trim level on V8-powered LaCrosse and Lucerne sedans. The Super name once again left the Buick lineup in 2011.

Well this is what I look like to most people, it's just some else to hide behind...

Canon EOS 60D with my EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens. This is my favourite lens to use for just about everything in nature. Love the flip out/tilting screen and ease of use when in 'live' view. I'm using 'live' view for this shot.

My little Canon G11 has the same feature and is brilliant for getting close ups of the underside of fungi regarding I.D. I try not to disturb anything in nature, I'd rather leave it for the next person, insects etc to enjoy.
