At the September 1980 Photokina, Ilford introduced the world's first chromogenic black and white film, Ilford XP1. It provided users with the opportunity to obtain black and white images from a film that takes advantage of the convenience and widespread availability of C-41 processing.

got this in the "is this hazardous?" pile at the dump - wouldnt mind trading it -

The good old film work horses from the late 70's early 80's.

I still use the Canon A-1 today.

Both first versions with original leater skin.

These are proving to be a dream combination, definitely my go to lens and camera.

After owning my Nikon D40 for more than six years I been meaning to upgrade to the next level. My eyes was set on the D7000 for the past two years, and I was hoping to buy this little whopper sometime last year. Luckily I held off as it was in the region of £1000.00 and then two months back there was the new D7100 onto the market, which became a dilemma for me. Here I was caught between two cameras and then I soon became engrossed with the reviews. So in one moment of time i am in for one camera and the next moment another change of heart. Hence with a price drop for the D7000 £100.00 cashback £542.00, this became my final choice. Secondly it makes sense to invest in some glassware. I guess next stop will be the 70-200mm lens.

This Tokina 16-28mm has been my superwide zoom lens of choice for my Canon 5D3 for a couple of years now. It is razor sharp and has produced some of my most popular images on my Flickr stream.

A few months back autofocus just stopped working ... I have no idea why. The lens has always been treated so well, never dropped, never exposed to bad weather, always spoken to nicely ...

Anyway, I took it into a camera shop and decided not to go down the path of getting it sent off for repair. I took this photo for my ebay listing, but thought i'd put it on my Flickr stream as a tribute! I've replaced this lens with a Canon 16-35mm f4 which is a real gem (and even sharper!).

Farewell faithful little Tokina!

Just recently a group of friends held a "going away" party for a dear friend & co-worker, Jess, who will be relocating soon. Jess is not originally from our area & we wanted to give her things to remind her of the "wonderful" winters we have here. This originally was going to be a card, but thought it would be a great piece of decor for her to have wherever she decides to go. I also wanted to incorporate the peacock since it is the mascot of our university. TFL!

Supply list & details blogged here.

YOU CAN .. CANON ! ~

I have decided to participate in a 52 week challenge rather than a 365 this year. A 365 is too much pressure at this time and a 52 week challenge still gets me shooting. If any of you are on facebook and are interested in this one or just want to do it here then why not check it out. 52 week challenge

I dropped my camera today, and fortunately nothing broke except for the filter. The less fortunate thing is that now the filter won't come off the lens, so I've been researching how to solve this problem. The essence is I will need a saw and a hammer. Still searching for a better workaround because I'm afraid I'll make it worse and break the lens.

Available light photo of my last bargain - but also my last purchase at the moment - the capture is taken with ISO 3200 and the Fujifilm X-T10 with 53mm KB and aperture f1,4 and shot almost in the dark! The brick in Mint condition with changing lenses is to nice to wait for daylight with taking a photo ;-)

I picked up my 3rd 5D2 after flip flopping between full frame and 1.6 crop. I decided I needed both.

It went like this 40D to 5D2 ( thought all my lenses were too zoomed back), back to a 40D (then went OMG 5D2 quality is 10 times better), back to 5D2(was happy until the 7D came out),to the 7D. Then for the last year I said I need both and finally picked up the 5D2 on the B&H sale. I'll have my 7D for sports and macro and the 5D2 for full framey shots. I got some stuff lined up so it should be paid off in no time.
