I awoke around 4:30 in the morning hearing nothing. Our neighborhood had lost power during an extended period of rain. All was quiet and dark, but I noticed red lights blinking a block away. It was the electrical workers restoring service. Let's not forget that for every convenience we have, someone has to work to provide it!
New HVAC units and electrical systems outside the Sandhills Medical Foundation facility, where a U.S. Department of Agriculture USDA Rural Development RD Community Facilities Direct Loans and Guaranteed Loans Program provided $2,964,500.00 for the 12,150-square-foot expansion in Lugoff, SC, on August 10, 2022.
The expansion more than mirrors the previous facility. It increases medical and emergency power generation. USDA media by Lance Cheung.

A brochure issued by the then might Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company Limited, part of AEI, and based at the massive Trafford Park works in Manchester. It is written by Ir. S S Koldijk, the chief engineer of the Rotterdamse Electrische Tramways and concerns the batch of 36 trailers and 34 motor cars that were constructed as post-WW2 replacements for older and war damaged rolling stock for the undertaking. It appears that two experimental motor-cars were ordered first and that originally all 70 cars of the order, placed with Koninklijke Fabrieken van Meubelem en Spoorweg-materieel NV Allen & Co, were to be trailers, this being amended as described. The orders were complicated by post-war shortages and so various components were sourced from many suppliers. This included the 36 sets of electrical equipment ordered from M-V with others being sourced from N.V. Electrotechnische Industrie v/h Willem Smit, Slikkerveer.
The eighteen pages of the brochure give great technical detail as to the manufacturing, construction and performance of these units along with images of car 102. Other manufacturers mentioned include Laycock Engineering of Sheffield, John Baker & Bessemer Ltd, Rotherham and David Brown of Huddersfield all then in West Yorkshire. The Dutch rubber concern of Vredesteyn is mentioned along with L Dikkers of Henglo and wiring by Croon & Co of Rotterdam.

GENERAL PAU AT MONT PARK HOSPITAL: General Pau, accompanied by Lady Helen Ferguson, paid a brief visit on Tuesday afternoon: to the largest military hospital in the Commonwealth-the 16th Australian General Hospital at Mont Park. On arrival at the institution the visitors were met, in the. open. space in front of the main entrance, by members of the staff, who were paraded in a picturesque formation resembling three sides of an octagon, with the red tippetted matron and sisters in the centre, the nurses and V.A.D.'s in spotless white on either side, and the medical staff and orderlies, in khaki, on the outskirts. After a by no means formal inspection of this "guard," the General and Lady Helen. Ferguson were shown round the principal buildings that comprise the hospital. They traversed a portion of the three-quarters of a mile of verandahs that flank the buildings; and they passed through several of the wards, which at present accommodate 540 cases, but are capable of housing about 1100. They inspected the orthopaedic block, where the latest apparatus for the electrical treatment of diseases and wounds has been installed; the gymnasium, where muscles are rehabilitated, the commodious kitchen, with its steam cooking equipment and the Red Cross Rest Home. Among the patients General Pau had a cheery word and a hearty handshake for all, and in many cases: a robust joke whlch, when interpreted by Lady Helen Ferguson, appealed, readily to the soldier mind. "Have you been to the front?" he asked a con-valescent soldier. "No," was. the modest reply, "Only to Egypt." "When I go back to France, and they ask me whether I have been for a trip," added General Pau, "I shall say, 'Oh, no, only to Australia.' " Seeing a young woman sitting beside one of the beds he said with a merry laugh, "A sister-perhaps-but I will not be indiscreet enough to inquire." General Pau's personality, which had endeared him to all who have met. him in Australia, is particularly attractive, among soldiers, several of whom had no difficulty in inducing him to stand quite tamely before their cameras.

Siemens 30/40 150 ampere main panel. I used 28 out of the 30 knockouts, including the 2–position whole-house surge arrester / TVSS (the top right Square D Homeline "breaker"). I used two multiwire circuits: the disposal and dishwasher wired through 12/3 Romex, and both 20A kitchen appliance circuits through 12/3 Romex. Each multiwire circuit is wired to its own 20A two-pole breaker; I looked for a 20A two-pole GFCI breaker for the kitchen appliance circuits, but that was probably going to be about $150 for the breaker, so I will just use two GFCI outlets to protect each circuit.
UPDATE: D'oh! What was I thinking, trying to put a GFCI outlet on each leg of a multiwire branch circuit? Can't do it because the there will almost always be an inbalance between one of the legs and the shared neutral. I had to get the 20A 2-pole GFCI breaker, which cost $132. That's what I get for being too clever for my own good!

Electrical Storm - U2 it.youtube.com/watch?v=ROD4OLJijkk
The sea it swells like a sore head
And the night it is aching
Two lovers lie with no sheets on their bed
And the day it is breaking
On rainy days, we'd go swimming out
On rainy days, swimming in the sound
On rainy days, we'd go swimming out
You're in my mind all of the time
I know that's not enough
If the sky can crack, there must be some way back
For love and only love
Electrical Storm
Electrical Storm
Electrical Storm
Baby don't cry
Car alarm won't let ya back to sleep
You're kept awake dreaming someone else's dream
Coffee is cold, but it'll get you through
Compromise, that's nothing new to you
Let's see colours that have never been seen
Let's go to places no one else has been
You're in my mind all of the time
I know that's not enough
Well if the sky can crack, there must be some way back
To love and only love

Electrical Storm
Baby don't cry
It's hot as hell, honey, in this room
Sure hope the weather will break soon
The air is heavy, heavy as a truck
Need the rain to wash away our bad luck
Well, If the sky can crack, there must be some way back
To love and only love

I used some blue electrical tape to temporarily bind some cable. Since I didn't want the adhesive sticking to the cable, I wrapped it adhesive-side out, and then doubled back and wrapped the wrapped portion adhesive-to-adhesive.
(Why? I couldn't find my twine or ties.)

Check out this house that was only five years old and already had electrical wires overheating in the sub panel. This is an easy fix; but if it had gone unnoticed it could have led to an even bigger of a problem in the future. Good thing these clients chose to have their home inspected!
apparently something used to be at the new park and rec. but we arent sure what. there is a very very old house from the turn of the century. but i dont think they had electricity.
