Hillary Clinton's Midnight Rally--Raleigh North Carolina

One observer's commentary on the 2016 USA Presidential Elections, expressed in Football terms. After all, we have various bowl games, including the Superbowl, so why not a Potusbowl?

Intended in good humor, but a lot of people will take offense, no doubt. I am capable of making fun of the other side too. This has more to do with humor than with politics. So nothing would be achieved by nasty messages.

Nurses Converge in Nevada To Canvass for Bernie Sanders

The Most Trusted Profession Tells Nevada Voters, “We Trust Bernie!”

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., registered nurses from across the country join Nevada nurses in Las Vegas this weekend to canvass for Bernie Sanders.

“Nurses deal with the impact of social issues every day, at the bedside. Our patients are getting lost. They come to the Emergency Room as a last ditch effort, because they don’t have healthcare, and by that time, their illness can be so advanced that there is no hope for them. All because they couldn’t afford preventative care. Bernie believes in Medicare for all. He stands for us, and we are excited to tell voters why we stand with Bernie,” said Darrella McGuire, RN, a Labor and Delivery nurse at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Around 160 RNs from as far away as Florida and Texas say they are taking time to canvass in Vegas, both to connect with voters around the issues—and to show that working people can come together to invoke change.

We interviewed students from Central State Unviersity (and surrounding schools) before John Legend's get out the vote event in Xania, Ohio on September 9th, 2016, asking them why voting in this election is important to them.

Approximately 1,000 protesters rallied in downtown Louisville, Kentucky November 10, 2016 to register their concern about harmful rhetoric used by president-elect Trump and the consequences it may produce in his emboldened followers.

Thousands marched from MacArthur Park to Downtown Los Angeles and Saturday November 12th in protest of a Trump Presidency.

Chanting "not my president" and "Black Lives Matters", protesters peacefully walked side by side through the streets of Los Angeles catching some LA motorists by surprise.

The 2012 presidential election was the first in American history in which black voter turnout exceeded that of whites, with minority voters in general proving critical to the election results. As the 2016 election draws near, the votes of minority populations—particularly black, Latino, and Asian Americans—may once again prove influential in selecting the next president. How will turnout among minority voters compare to the historic levels of the past two presidential elections?

On September 14, Governance Studies at Brookings hosted an expert panel focused on the role of minority voters in the upcoming presidential election. What do the shifting demographics of the United States tell us? What role will black, Latino, and Asian American voters play in deciding the outcomes in key states? How will candidates’ positions on criminal justice, immigration, and the persistence of racial bias affect the vote in minority communities?
