Beautiful blonde Anny Nelsen (1942) was best known in France as Miss Angora. She also appeared in a dozen French film, including the Nouvelle Vague classic Jules et Jim (1962).
Anny or Annie Nelsen was born in 1942. She made her first film appearance with an uncredited bit part in the German-French romantic comedy Ein Engel auf Erden/An Angel on Wheels (1959, Géza von Radványi ) starring Romy Schneider. She also appeared in the action thriller Ça va être ta fête/ It's Your Birthday (1960, Pierre Montazel) starring hard boiled Eddie Constantine, and in the short film Rupture/ (1962, Jean-Claude Carrière, Pierre Étaix) starring the 'forgotten' French comic Pierre Étaix. This 11 minutes-long-film won an award at the Mannheim-Heidelberg International Filmfestival, and the First Prize at the International Short Film Festival, Oberhausen. Her next film would turn out to be her most successful one. She played the supporting part of Lucie in the classic love triangle Jules et Jim/Jules and Jim (1962, François Truffaut) with Jeanne Moreau and Oskar Werner. James Travers at Films de France: “Jules et Jim, François Truffaut’s undisputed masterpiece, was one of the high points of the French New Wave, a film which, with its uninhibited portrayal of free love and male friendship, instantly caught the Zeitgeist and became a worldwide success.”
Anny Nelsen was better known as a glamour model and sexy dancer than as an actress . Her main claim to fame was her election as Miss Angora, which was mentioned on the backside of the pictured postcard. After Jules et Jim, Nelsen did not appear in films for five years. In 1967 she returned to the screen with a small part in the comedy Le grand bidule/The large contraption (1967, Raoul André). The following year she appeared in three films, Les jeunes loups/Young Wolves (1968, Marcel Carné) with Yves Beneyton, the historical drama Mayerling (1968, Terence Young) starring Omar Sharif and Catherine Deneuve, and the thriller La main noire/The Black Hand (1968, Max Pécas). Five years later she made her final film, Lo Païs (1973, Gérard Guérin), the first feature film in Breton.

So Elsa is wearing the same gloves and shoes as her Coronation doll. While the gloves are fine because the follow the movie, I think they could have given her shoes that matched her outfit more. They detailing is lovely otherwise, and I'm really like seeing her in her new purple persona. XP
Deboxing Teal Jasmine. First the outer cardboard cover is removed, by simply sliding it off the box. There is still a plastic cover protecting the doll inside. Then the inner plastic cover and rear cardboard cover are removed, leaving the inner cardboard backing, to which the doll is attached. The backing can stand on its own. The doll is now in clear view. The Certificate of Authenticity is removed from below the backing.
Detailed photos of my pre-ordered Teal Jasmine 17 inch doll. I picked her up on release day (Tuesday October 13, 2015) from my local Disney Store. She is #1834 of 5000. She has a similar color difference between her torso and the rest of her body (including her head) as that of my Red Jasmine doll. There is golden sheen in her torso that is especially noticeable in her neck and upper chest. I like Teal Jasmine much more than I thought I would from my initial look at the stock photos and even seeing the display doll in person, although Red Jasmine is still my favorite of the two.
She is photographed boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. She is also posed with other comparable dolls.

Next the spacer tabs are pushed through the backing, and the Elsa is removed from the backing. She is still attached to the spacer and the doll stand. She is stood up next to the backing, which has a view of the interior of Arendelle Cathedral, where her coronation took place.
The plastic tabs of the spacers have been freed by removing the tape securing them to the back of the cardboard backing. Also all the T-tabs tacking the doll's outfit to the backing have been cut off. The outfit is now free from the backing, and the bottom of the backing can be lowered to show the base of the doll stand, her shoes and the wire and tissue paper wrapped around her legs.
Deboxing my pre-ordered Elsa Limited Edition DVD Doll (that is the name of the doll on my Disney Store receipts). First the front cover is removed, revealing the clear plastic front of the inner box. The Certificate of Authenticity is below the plastic cover. She is #1875 of 5000. Then the plastic cover is removed, and the back outer cover is removed. What remains is the cardboard backing to which the doll is still attached. She is now in clear view from three sides. There were a few stray hairs in her front bangs, some of which I tucked in her bangs, some of which I trimmed.
I just got my pre-ordered Anna and Elsa Limited Edition dolls from my local Disney Store. I also got my pre-ordered Frozen Blu-ray/DVD movie combo. They had very few other Frozen items for sale, the male dolls (Classic Hans and Kristoff, and plush Kristoff) and the plush Anna and Elsa dolls. No girl's Anna or Elsa costumes, Classic Anna or Elsa dolls, or baby Sven. There were perhaps 50 people lined up in front of the entrance before the store opened at 10 am. I also got a second pre-ordered Anna from another local store today. I will take detailed photos of all my dolls, boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed.

I am struggling. This grey started for ME when I was in the UK in November. But that grey was expected. Since returning home, we have had precious few sunny days. I know I'm not the only one who has the winter blues (greys?).
To help to combat this, I grabbed my camera and my husband and we hiked our local nature center. The trails were icy, there was very little snow on the ground, and the sky was gloomy. But it felt good to be outside and the nature center had been busy with updates, new trail signs and updated off-the-grid energy.
We can't wait to go back to Bubolz Nature Preserve to explore when the weather is warmer (and it WILL be sunny then too)!

Edmond Jean Adolphe Minckwitz, known as Edmond van Daële and simply Van Daele, born on 11 August 1884 in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and died on 12 March 1960 in Grez-Neuville (Maine-et-Loire), was a French actor, best known for his part of Robespierre in Abel Gance's Napoleon.
Edmond van Daële started his career on stage in 1913 (as far as known) and began his career in the silent film era in 1915-1916. In 1916 not only did he act in a few films at Pathé Frères, but also directed his first film: La lumière du coeur, in which he starred himself. Yet, it was from 1919 onward that he had an intense career in French silent cinema, in films such as Ames siciliennes (Raoul Dauchy, 1920), Narayana (Léon Poirier, 1920) in which he had the male lead, and Fièvre (Louis Delluc, 1921) as the sailor Militis opposite Ève Francis as the inkeeper and his ex. Afterward, Van Daele was the notary in Les Roquevillard (Julien Duvivier, 1922), while in Le Chemin de l'abîme (Adrien Caillard, 1923) he played a respected industrial who falls for a young laborer's daughter. In Coeur fidèle (Jean Epstein, 1923) he played the perfid Little Paul opposite Gina Manès and Léon Mathot, while he was reunited with Delluc and Francis in L'Inondation (1924), another male lead for Van Daele.
After La Joueuse d'orgue (1924) by Charles Burguet, Van Daele played his best remembered part, the evil Robespierre in Abel Gance's mega-spectacle Napoléon (1927), opposite Alexandre Koubitzky as Danton, Albert Dieudonné as Bonaparte, and Gance himself as Saint-Just. In Sables (Dimitri Kirsanoff, 1927) Van Daele played a man who abandons his family and goes into the desert with his mistress, while in Six et demi onze (Eepstein, 1927) he plays a doctor who discovers his mistress over whom his brother committed suicide. Van Daele had the lead as the anarchist leader Siria in Duvivier's L'Agonie de Jérusalem (1927), while he was the jealous rival of the protagonist in La Lueur dans les ténèbres (Maurice Charmeroy, 1928). Van Daele played Joseph Fouché opposite Marie Bell in the title role in Madame Récamier (Gaston Ravel, Tony Lekain, 1928). In 1929 he played king Louis XVI - the man beheaded on Robespierre's instigation - in the Franco-German production Cagliostro by Richard Oswald and Marcel Carné. The film focuses on the famous "Affaire du collier de la reine".
Van Ddaele easily made the passage to French sound film, acting in the first sound film Le Requin (Henri Chomette, 1930).
Among his sound films were also Le Mystère de la chambre jaune (1930) and Le Parfum de la dame en noir (1931) by Marcel L'Herbier, Le Tunnel (Curtis Bernhardt, 1933), and Maria Chapdelaine (Duvivier, 1934). All in all, Van Daele played in about fifty films until 1950.

Time for some color. This is Manny Pacquiao's Limited Edition Nike shoe. My brother in law bought one and of course I made some photographs of it when he showed it to me. Pacquiao's fight is on Saturday vs Timothy Bradley who is undefeated and young. Of course I'll route for Pacman and I'm hoping for a great fight! Good luck Pacman!

He just posted this...I may have to get her. She's not much smaller than a Lati White who is 9.5cm due to head size. Lati whites were $200 when they first came out...I wonder how they'll price this one. Stats: 8cm tall.
At least I wouldn't have to worry about wigs or eyes and I could crochet/knit baby clothes and not humiliate the doll.
