A little bit of grain never hurt anyone..

My first ever Wings! cover (as it was then)

I gave a one-minute exposure here in an attempt to emphasise the tunnel of trees as the path makes its way along the edge. As it is, the path is a little indistinct, and the leaves nearest the camera draw the eye too much. A work in progress.

Gombong, Central Java, Indonesia. It was shot using my cellphone, early morning after a 7 hour driving from Jakarta (430 kms). The mountain was as blue as the sky, and sun was as bright as the yellow rice fields...Hope this was not the edge of a cliff, but the edge of a wide open sky.

Had to dust off this older shot and work it up. One of those "I should do something with this" photos that gets put off until the right moment. Anyway, as I'm sure it's obvious, I did a lot of "playin" with this; it was just one of those kind of days!

Coal Harbour, Vancouver, BC

Georgia Straight’s 2004 Best of Vancouver: “Best New Poetically Inspired Waterfall”

sliding edge alludes to the always moving edge of the waterfront, the sea sliding in and out on the tides, the waves lapping, the shifting of the earth’s edge.

The walkways at the waterfalls are a minimalist evocation of the ocean shore and industrial life – a graphic composition of sliding lines, long narrow concrete pavers, stone slabs laid randomly like driftwood, and cast iron ‘sawblade’ tree grates. A waterfall of black rundle stone suggests the coal cliff of historic Coal Harbour. Standing on top of the waterfall, acting as our compass is an enigmatic figure looking north. He stands on a recessed honed plinth, as though the cliff has been eroded, revealing text through a moving film of water:
