Eclipse lunar Lunes 20 Hora 23:55 a Martes 21 Hora: 05:00 am

The totality of the full lunar eclipse having past, the moon is emerging from the Earth's shadow but has already begun to set behind the mountain. The mountain is visible because the sky is getting lighter as dawn approaches. Also, the revealed part of the moon should be white but we are viewing it through a thin layer of cloud. The part of the moon still in shadow would be reddish coloured with visible craters (as in my other photos) except that the cloud through which we are viewing it is dimming the light.

Total Eclipse 2017. Camping in Eastern Oregon to try to get away from the crowds. More around than I expected, but not as many as I had feared. The exact location was impossible to get to without 4x4, although some tried, and failed, while we watched.
One of the best camping spots I've had in a while.

A camera-phone makes a poor photo of the November 2022 lunar eclipse, with the Moon about 1/3 occluded
BACKSTORY:
Today I completely forgot about the lunar eclipse and was reminded at work. Lucky for me I bring my camera everywhere I go, unforunately I only had my prime 50mm lens with me. Needless to say, this is when you have to start getting clever. I had to ask myself "What shot can I possibly get with a prime lens of an object that's thousands of miles away and have it still look good?"
These shots (1 of 3) were what I came up with. I used the same composition in all three just to make sure I got the shot right. I then left for home and grabbed my 18-200 to take more while it was still out.
In the end, I still don't have the proper equipment to get a closeup shot of the moon, I'll leave that to the other millions of cliche shots of the moon that other professionals have taken

Even the most intricate thoughts, inventions and elements of life can be broken down into very simple groups.
The two basic senses of sight and sound, invoke an undeviating, but uncertain other sense.
A bright light hidden behind a simple shape creates an eclipse of itself under an increasingly louder subsonic hum.
