Stellarium screenshot. Location is N47 deg 37 min W 122 deg 20 min - somewhere around Seattle :-). The moon will eclipsing as it's just rising and will enter total eclipse roughly due east and 10 deg above horizon, exiting about bearing 105, about 30 deg above horizon.
To frame the space needle in the shot, you want to be roughly due west of the needle. Since this is not really possible unless we go out to Bainbridge with hella big telephotos, we're going to shoot from Kerry Park. With a wide angle, it should fit.
When the eclipse was total, I had to increase the exposure to get a good picture. I'm not sure exactly what settings I used here to get such a good shot. I'd been fiddling and most of the pictures I took did not come out, but this one did. I tried to take more like this, but I was never able to figure out what settings I had used!

We had our eclipse viewing equipment ready... but it's overcast here in New Orleans, so we streamed the NASA coverage.
Yes, I learned in school during an eclipse about 1970 how easy it was to improve viewers. For the 2017 eclipse friends had a backyard party, and passed around a pair of eclipse glasses... but between that people were impressed with my showing how to make pinhole viewers.
