Today would’ve marked King Kieran’s 20th earthly birthday. He was my most loving companion, the ultimate cuddle-bug who gave the sweetest kitty kisses, and my gentle giant of a soulmate. His adventurous spirit led us on countless journeys, always by my side, exploring life together.
I have countless photos and videos, each brimming with memories, so many that it’s almost impossible to choose just one. But this moment stands out: a blissful hike beneath Mount Rainier, when the world had come to a standstill, leaving just me and Kieran in quiet solitude. Wildflowers framed him as we walked, and in the soft glow of the evening sunset, I saw how his wild beauty was balanced by his gentle nature. In that peaceful stillness, we were perfectly connected, a bond beyond words.
I’m deeply grateful for how his journey, with all its highs and lows, brought us closer; not just to each other, but to you, our extended family. Your love and support made this journey even more meaningful, and I’m thankful you had the chance to fall in love with him too. The love we shared is timeless; we honour him by carrying his love forward and telling his story to remember him forever.

A simple photo just to show off my brand new tattoo!!
I've wanted a leaf tattoo for a while and I finally went ahead with it! I've always felt a deep connection with the earth when I'm amongst the trees and I'd like to think that one day, when my time on this earth is done, I'll return to the earth and maybe become a tree myself.
PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.
A statue shows the symbolism of Catholic religion and the ancient beliefs of Rapa Nui.
A bird statue that represents the Espiritu Santo (Holy Spirit) with seven dowels representing the "earthly gifts" (written in Spanish) of the Holy Spirit. The seven gifts are: wisdom, intelligence, counsel, strength, science, piety and fear of God. The dove that usually represents the Holy Spirit has been replaced with a frigate bird or a manutara bird.

Catholic church on Easter Island, Church of the Holy Cross was founded in 1937 by Father Sebastian Englert. The church is a great example of the coming together of the Catholic and Rapa Nui culture and believes.

Follow me:
Lord I will put to death whatever belongs to my earthly nature: Sexual immorality; impurity; lust; controlling desires; greed; idolatry; pride; hate and everything else that is against You. Help me to put on: Compassion; kindness; humility; gentleness; and patient. Help me to bear with others and forgive as You have forgiven me. Most of all help me to put on LOVE, which binds them together.
Lord, grant me the grace to put to death these my earthly vices and grant me the grace to be clothed in godliness.
(Col 3:5-7, 12-14)
In Christ name, I pray amen.

The HIMS St. Joseph, named after the earthly father of our Savior, is Anady'rs first aircraft carrier and the new flagship of the Northern Fleet. Finished in mid-January, laziness prevented it from being published until now. It took about two weeks of solid, Christmas Vacation level uninterrupted work to finish it; I shudder to imagine building this during the school year.
The St. Joseph was fitted with a experimental turbo-electric drive, granting her greatly increased range, speed, and maneuverability. Furthermore, it allowed the St. Joseph to travel forwards and backwards at the same speeds. The powerful generators produce enough electricity to power a small city. However, the system was expensive and took up a lot of space in the ship, and on subsequent carriers it was replaced with a more conventional powerplant.
The initial of the ship's name is painted on the smokestack to help pilots find their way home. These ships are fast and very well-protected, but have a low plane capacity for their size. In addition, the borscht tends to be infested with maggots, rats run wild through the halls, and there's always a strange smell that nobody can get rid of. Eh, the Patriarch says self-mortification is the path to righteousness. There's no way this could backfire.
HIMS St. Joseph:
Fleet Carrier: 8,050pp
+1 armored flight deck
+1 105mm armor
+0 65 planes (30 fighters, 35 TBs)
+0 AA large cannons
+1 speed, 33kn

-1 topheavy/high test
-1 no ship's cat
-1 prison food
HIMS St. Basil and others:
Fleet Carrier: 7,000pp

+0 65 planes (30 fighters, 35 TBs)
+0 AA large cannons
+1 speed, 33kn

The Garden of Earthly Delights, Educa, 9,000 pieces.
Finally framed and hanged on the wall!
215 x 119 cm, thus we've ran out of any free space on the walls for future puzzles, and we can now embark on doing something useful to the society ;)
The garden of Earthly delights comes to mind. Back by popular demand, Isabella has kindly agreed to disrobe in our garden to the delight, or was it shock of our neighbours. We live in a part of the city that is quite populated by Hassidic Jews. Their curiosity was great when they became aware of our session in the garden and in plain view. With barely perceivable discomfort, Isabella stood her ground as I was snapping away.
I particularly enjoyed the contrast of her pink skin against the foliage as the robe was slowly and controllably falling off to reveal her nude body.
I usually work very hard when I am shooting. Very caught up in the moment and deep in my creative mode. It is only much later that I get to view the results of the shoot, work on the images in Photoshop and can finally sit back and admire the photographs. Writing about them as I do for Flickr brings much to light by way of my feelings and emotions that the photographs convey.
I must give a big thank you to my wife Mary Bogdan, who is the gardener and creator of this seemingly wild, ambient, magical location.
All the lighting is natural, outdoors daylight.
We did shoot a video recording of the session. The raw footage will soon be edited and uploaded. If you would like to see a short film showing two of my other sessions please follow visit my web site, sollang.com.
Great photography requires dedication, time and effort.
But above all there are costs involved as well.
Equipment, props and model fees, not to mention time,
are all "out-of-pocket" expenses for the artist.

Fashions come and go, but blue is always a constant somewhere.
This year the FFF+ Group have decided to have a weekly challenge called “Snap Happy”. A different theme chosen by a member of the group each week, and the image is to be posted on the Monday of the week.
This week the theme, “blue” was chosen by Phunny, phunnyfotos.
Blue is my favourite colour and is representative in the fabrics I choose to have shirts made from. The fabrics in this image are: (right) William Morris’ “Earthly Paradise”, (top) “Forget me Not” cotton, (right) an Eighteenth Century calico print of “Poppies in Blue” and (bottom) “Chester Row” Tana Lawn from Liberty of London.
The sterling silver and turquoise guilloché enamel belt buckle in the middle is made by James Fenton and Company Silversmiths in Birmingham. It features Birmingham hallmarks for 1911 on the reverse.
Guilloché is a decorative technique in which a very precise, intricate and repetitive pattern is mechanically engraved into an underlying material via engine turning, which uses a machine of the same name, also called a rose engine lathe.

An Earthly Aquarium. That is my recollection of this day.
This is one of a few shots I took just to remember the day by. Not much in the way of post-process here, or at least I do not recall much work on it. Either way, this one puts some twinkle in my mind's eye.
Enjoy!
just a simple photograph i took from our portrait session with mark albert. still have a few more photos from this series i'd be sharing on my blog and page.
A picture taken at an unknown time and place, I was taken when I still used a systematic film camera so 1990-2005 ???
Where it is taken is also unknow, probably in Denmark or Sweden or perhaps, Paris, Berlin or Lund???
Why did I take the picture? i don’t know that either, perhaps to document a heap of rubble for posterity???

Mankind! Long before your birth,
alluring was the beauty of Mother Earth.
She bore living things of all kinds…plants and insects, animals and birds.
Mankind! Onto the face of the earth you strolled in,
bringing up the rear in all her children.
You were meant to be the pride of all creation
Mankind! To all life, Mother Earth has been so kind!
Like the mother hen she nurtured her little chicks with affection,
as she toiled to provide food season after season with dedication.
Even to you Mankind, she gave the best in proportion

After the great Aurora of May 10, 2024, many flocked to Pyramid Lake the following evening, as we were forecasted to have another fairly decent storm.
I spotted at least 50 cars parked at Pyramid Lake, and many waited and waited for the show to begin, but could not see anything.
Fortunately, I was able to pick up quite a bit of the beginning just after sunset, but unfortunately, many were not able to see it due to moonlight, and it still being twilight.
It was also quite cloudy, which made the viewing a little bit more difficult for folks who were there to see the lights, but for me, added a nice amount of drama to the scene.
Luckily the camera can perform a little bit better than our eyes can when it comes to recording long periods of light, and seeing what was hiding behind the clouds.
I have photographed many Northern Lights scenes above Pyramid Mountain from this viewpoint, with some being much stronger and more vibrant.
However I quite like the dynamic nature of the Sky in this scene.
Meteorologically, we have some earthly weather, with a nighttime cumulus system passing over the landscape, shrouding our Moon.
The space weather was also performing, with a KP6 Geomagnetic storm trying to break through the multiple bright components like the sun still setting on the horizon, and the Moon to the East.
Unfortunately, to the disappointment of the many Aurora spectators who had likely missed the night before.
This truly felt to me, like one of the most Earthly scenes I could capture in an evening.
Light, Licht, Luz, Lucia ...
On the eve of the supposed rapture.
I stand corrected heavenly light right here on earth.
about waking up each day to discover something new,
about meeting old people but making new conversations,
walking through old roads but still feeling nice about it,
realizing that you have grown a day older but still feeling young at heart,
meeting busy schedules but still finding time for old friends,
being sad about gone days but looking forward to better days to come.

Lightlings have a very short Earthly life span. Their half hour is almost up, and they are showing their fear and concern in different ways. The angry one is making the scared one even more scared. Did he really think that growling and scowling at someone who is frightened will make them less so?
These emotions happen to Lightlings no matter what color or colors they are. Without exception, all colors or combinations of colors, or even patterns like swirly or polka dot can all feel a wide range of emotions while here on Earth. It isn't known what happened to them before, nor what will happen after their time here.
This pair of Lightlings is headed for Flickr groups like Friday is Blue Day.

So I've had this concept mulling around in my head for months now. Eventually I got it done but none too easily. As you can imagine it took a while to get this one just as I wanted it. I tried for about 4 hrs and about 1500 shots to get the timing right without getting the perfect one. Eventually I decided to take a break and have a cup of coffee. Came back about 15 minutes later and took 1 shot (.....yes 1.... ONE ...!!) And this is it.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It is exactly the shot that was in my head.
