I asked Rosa what kind of plant this was and she said "a wild rose." I said "well if it's in your garden, it can't be wild then can it?" She said ... "men!"

The earthly paradise.

Xiangtangshan .Cina. September / October 2018.

The mountain of Xianggongshan is one of the karst mountains that line the Li river.

It is very particular and has been formed for thousands of years in different forms over the years.

We need to be good to our planet so we can thrive and live on it longer. I had so much to do today, fixing fences, harrowing (tilling land), yard cleanup, and getting the garden ready for planting.... It felt good to get lots of these earthly things done.

Thank you for all the comments and faves, my friends. Stay safe and have a wonderful weekend!

Euploea core, or the common crow!

The common crow is the most common representative of its genus, Euploea. Like the tigers (genus Danaus), the crows are inedible and thus mimicked by other Indian butterflies (see Batesian mimicry). In addition, the Indian species of the genus Euploea show another kind of mimicry, Müllerian mimicry.

Christchurch is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand.

The city suffered a series of earthquakes between September 2010 and January 2012, with the most destructive of them occurring on 22 February 2011, in which 185 people were killed and thousands of buildings across the city collapsed or suffered severe damage.

By late 2013, 1,500 buildings in the city had been demolished, leading to ongoing recovery and rebuilding projects across the city.

of all earthly spectacles, what is that? It is the sun going to his rest.” ~ Thomas de Quincey

Beautiful sunset at Naxos, Greece.

The artist Christa Biederbick created three fountains in the rose garden for the opening of "Britzer Garten“ in Berlin in 1984.

This is another detail of one of the three fountains.

The Terminal Velocity of a Snowflakes at 1/2000 of a Second

More from the Yellowstone series, and my apologies for so many at one time. I know it's hard to comment on so many photos so I turned off commenting on most of them to ease the pain. However, I do appreciate your faves, thank you! I'm preparing a book of our Montana trip, and all the photos to be added will be taken out of Flickr.

The earthly colors and patterns on these little ones can be very pretty ... I think. Captured at ISO 2500 in the lower light.

Earthly Bishops may think they can deconsecrate a building, but God's heavenly light still shines on this place. The work of generations in building this church involves more than stone and mortar. The tears of the little community at Ross at the news this church was to be sold, did not overwhelm them however.

A few communities in Tasmania have organised to raise funds to buy back "their" churches from the corporate entity that was originally gifted the land by the Crown. Like all these churches it was built by the donations of faithful parishioners, but now to be used to raise funds for consolidated revenue. I hope Bishops sleep well at night.

If you would like to help the Friends of St John's Church please visit their website and make contact. They would appreciate any assistance you can provide. www.stjohnsross.com.au/fosjrfundraising.html

So this photograph is dedicated to the faithful souls at Ross and their beautiful church building. May the light of Heaven continue to shine for years to come. This is something no mere mortal can take away!

I certainly enjoy the blue hour captures I took at this location, but this slightly later in the morning view with the light filtered through the clouds and warmer tones made the rocks and brown grass all match with the earthly tones. A pretty place to see sunrise in West Virginia.

The soul, my unopened flower

With its innocence, it strives towards God

Paving a bright path

It is the source of truth

It opens its petals with nectar

And the enchanting happiness of tenderness

It brings together the parts

Of the sought-for immortality.

My wondrous daisies of white purity

Of the transparent, fresh, and naked essence

My Light within, when at a crossroads.

The source of strength, the song of beauty....

I do love the cliffs of the coast in May, as all the breeding birds bring them to life. Normally on this small stretch in this photo there will be breeding pairs of Herring Gull, Fulmar, Chough, Peregrine and Raven, as well as House Martin. There will start to be growing young to feed so it's a great time to watch them. A simple Earthly Pleasure by Villagers

This is a photograph. A multiple exposure of flowers in our garden. It is soft and impressionistic at first glance, but if you enlarge it you'll see how it retains its structure and depth.

Morning capture started with a 4.30am rise from a dreamless slumber, a short drive to the beach and a scramble along the rocks to find a composition before the tide came in and the early light faded

The protruding rocks have lovely definition and patterns worth zooming in on a large screen
