On my way back to the house I saw this and had to pull over...at a local cemetary. I've always believed that acsending rays were the angels ladders earthbound to help and save. Descending rays were ladders for lost souls to find there way home.

Gestern in Deutschland unterwegs war keine Zeit für viele Versuche zu dem Thema Elemente! Diese Motiv habe ich in zwei Varianten kreiert mit Feuer und mit Rauch der Feuer symbolisieren soll. Meine Entscheidung viel ausf Feuer indem sogar die Wassertropfen zu sehen sind, wenn auch nur wenige wirklich sichtbar sind.

Yesterday in Germany there was no time for many experiments on the topic of elements! This motive I created in two variants with fire and with smoke the fire is to symbolize. My decision was to make a lot of fire by even seeing the drops of water, even if only a few are really visible.

Hier, en Allemagne, nous n'avons pas eu le temps de faire beaucoup d'expériences sur le thème des éléments ! Ce motif que j'ai créé en deux variantes avec le feu et avec la fumée le feu est de symboliser. Ma décision a été de faire beaucoup de feu en voyant même les gouttes d'eau, même si seules quelques-unes sont vraiment visibles.

Old mans beard of course but one of my favourite plants to photograph, especially when it has gone to seed.. a bit like me really ;)))
The plant is Wild Clematis Clematis vitalba otherwise know as Traveller’s Joy, Virgin’s Bower or the descriptive Old Man’s Beard. It is a climbing, scrambling plant often covering hedgerows and walls and woodland edge and is particularly prolific in some areas such as the Forest of Dean, the Chiltern Hills etc. and although it may grow in the same way as a vine or cheap clomid Honeysuckle it is actually a member of the Buttercup family.

David Bowie would have been 76 years old today. And on January 10th 2016 we lost a legend when Bowie passed away. I was so upset that morning when I heard I ended up calling out sick from work. Local station WXPN played Bowie songs for 24 hours and I spent that day just singing along to all my favorite songs.
My favorite song of David Bowie (off my favorite album Aladdin Sane) is Panic in Detroit. This version of song was performed in my favorite city - Philadelphia. What was your favorite Bowie Song - post it in the comments below!!

Earth and Water
Nothing special for "Four Elements", as I had a busy week including the weekend (and I also started too late as usual). I actually wanted to include the other two elements in a more abstract way by using a recently purchased glass prism (for some light / colour reflections to symbolise "air" - not really obvious, is it?; and I also just couldn't get it right with that new photographic toy), and the star filter to create a "spark" that could set off a small "fire", but the tiny, rather shapeless blobs of water that you see here (I had perfectly round droplets on my mind, and ended up with blobs) were probably too small and shapeless, so the light burst didn't work either. So I decided to stick to two elements, "earth" and "water". Earth, or rather soil, and water make things grow, like the Geraldton waxflower with its tiny blossoms (0,7 cm / 0,27 inches in diameter) and brightly green needles, and the olive tree, which provided the wood this small spice measuring spoon shaped like a tiny scoop is made of (what you see here is the 3,5 cm / 1,3 inches long scoop part). Soil borrowed from the balcony, waxflower twiglet borrowed from a bouquet, processed in Luminar 3 (only minor adjustments this time, like small and big details, a little HSL sliding) and ON1 Photo RAW (HDR filter "Glow" and LUT filter).
A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!
Ich hatte diese Woche, Wochenende inklusive, leider nicht viel Zeit, um Verschiedenes auszuprobieren, und so blieb es bei meiner ersten Idee - und davon habe ich auch nur die Hälfte umsetzen können: Erde und Wasser. Dafür habe ich ein Gewürzschäufelchen aus Olivenholz mit einem kleinen Zweig Wachsflower ("Hakiges Chamelaucium", Blütendurchmesser 0,7 cm, beheimatet in West-Australien) und vom Balkon geborgter Erde dekoriert und die Blüten mit ein bisschen Wasser beträufelt (mir schwebten perfekt runde Wasserperlen vor, übrig blieben Klekse hier und da). Die beiden anderen Elemente wollte ich abstrakt darstellen, "Feuer" mit einem kleinen Lichtstern als Funken, aber das hat wohl die ausgeprägt-unförmige Klecksform der Wassertropfen verhindert, ein Sternchen wollte mir jdf. dieses Mal nicht gelingen. Und für "Luft" wollte ich mit einem gerade erst gekauften Glasprisma Lichtspiegelungen bzw. Farbspielereien erzeugen, was aber hier auch nicht so ganz geklappt hat, da muss ich wohl noch üben ;-) Also blieben Erde, Wasser und quasi ein "halbes" Foto übrig ;-) Entwickelt in Luminar (nur geringfügige Anpassungen, Details klein und groß, HSL-Regler) und ON1 Photo RAW (HDR-Filter "Glow", LUT).

The last earthbound quartet of ties/sleepers settled among the rocky ballast at the east end of the Rocksprings trestle leads the eye westward along the elevated rails, parallel to Rocksprings Road and its familiar power poles, towards town and then the mountains of the Angeles National Forest, arrayed faintly along the skyline. A nice small feature of this east-to-west viewpoint is the quirky little cluster of dirt roads around the base of the nearest power pole :-)
Camera: Eho Baby Box (Nr. 182, 1932-1939, with Eho-Duplar 50mm f/11 lens). This tiny (www.flickr.com/photos/inspiredphotosdotcom/5585467090/in/...) half-frame 127-film German box camera is similar in size to its 1930s American counterpart, the Kodak Baby Brownie.
Film: Kodak Verichrome Pan 127 (expired 1972), developed in Arista Liquid Developer for 5:45 minutes @ 68 degrees, and scanned with an Epson V600 scanner.
Knowing the Caturday challenge was "On Higher Ground" I knew this would be interesting. Rena wants nothing higher than the bed.
But today, maybe knowing the challenge, she jumped all the way up on this bookcase shelf. It's 28 inches off the ground. 71 c.m.
She's trying to decide how she can get over to the bed which is 2 feet away. My little heroine!
I was driving along the trunk road somewhere in the state of Kelantan, 450 km to the northeast of Kuala Lumpur. The panoramic vista of the area was very pleasant with the sweeping view of rice fields on both sides of the road. Towards the end of the field, I then saw these beautiful beams of sunrays coming from between the clouds high above the village.
The moment I saw it, I swiftly pulled over for a capture.
But then, I was a little frustrated looking at what I got on camera as it didn’t recollect fully on what I saw. The actual sight in the real life was actually way better than this image as it looked biblical to complement the already breathtaking view.
My editing helps a little but nothing compared to the real thing.
The Durie Hill (Wanganui) pedestrian tunnel was built in 1919 and is the only earthbound elevator in NZ. A pedestrian tunnel leads 205 metres inside the hill to the elevator which rises 66 metres. Two viewpoints of the city are located at the top and the Memorial Tower has steps that lead up to even greater heights and views.
Getting back to where I'm most comfortable, outdoors, hunting the "good light". I had the pleasure of shooting one of the most photogenic children ever...
