Istanbul, Turkey - November 15, 2019: Woman walking along a crowded pedestrian walkway, wearing sunglasses and smiling on Istiklal street on sunny day in Taksim, Beyoğlu, Istanbul, Turkey.

Experience the energy and excitement of modern Istanbul along Istiklal Street. Imagine New York City’s Time Square, The Las Vegas’ Strip and Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive all rolled into one...and you have Istiklal Street (Avenue).

This nearly mile long pedestrian street features shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries, museums, live music, bars, cinemas, pubs, nightclubs and even a Catholic Church. Since there is so much to do along this street, it can be very crowded, as in up to 3 million people a day!

I spent an afternoon practicing my street photography and talking with many locals. Here is just a small sample of what I experienced.

This Humpback Whale put on quite a show for us. They are so massive to see breaching. Amazing moment on Maui.

Uncontainable excitement fills up the air while we drive through Monkey Creek towards Milford Sound, NZ. The ray of light promise us best of weather but things can only happen as it is in the hand of the Almighty God. Cherish the moment while it last!

A car and a pic a little bit different from what I upload generally, an orange Alpine A110 seen at the XIè Tour de Corse Historique. Seen a lot of great rally cars this day, that was an amazing event !

Don't hesitate to press F or comment if you like it ! :D

During Summer religious festivities in Spain it's not unusual to see this sort of scene.

Fireworks on short poles are lit and flames and burning projectiles are shot in all directions. All this in the streets crowded by thousands of people!

Some people dress up, such as the man on the right who looks like a devilish figure. Others make sure to wear old clothes (which may well get burn marks) and hats to protect their eyes.

For foreigners it's a spectacular and unforgettable sight.

I didn't realise when I took the picture that a burning ember was falling right in front of the girl's face, but by good luck it illuminated her perfectly!

The photo was taken in Sitges a few miles South-West of Barcelona.

Not one of the best shots from the nostalgia ride, but I like this one because it shows the energy and excitement of the event: the BU gate cars heading up the line, Arnines sitting in the background, (J) and (M) trains passing at higher frequencies than expected, and photographers everywhere!

Hand in Hand they hold court over the entire Magic Kingdom. Mickey must know something the rest of us don't because he is positively glowing with excitement.

This group of children is on the trail near Deep Lock Quarry to watch Nickel Plate Road 2-8-4 No. 765. The steam locomotive has already passed, leaving the youngsters quite excited. On the rear of the train was CVSR FPA-4 No. 6777.

A great deal of excitement recently with at least 2 different Brown Boobies in the North Sea. However none stuck around in a dependable way to make travelling worthwhile until today. This adult bird was discovered in the Tees Estuary yesterday afternoon and was still present today. Always quite distant the view through telescopes were fantastic even if the photos aren't.

Not much bigger than a Herring Gull it was obviously a lot smaller than a Gannet. There was a touch of the Pterodactyl about it in flight. The gulls ignored it when it was sitting but as soon as it flew they gave it a hard time

I know what you're asking yourself. "Where to they get their energy?" Well, at least he (or she) wasn't laying down. Maybe it's the diet of nothing but bamboo. Taken last week at the San Diego Zoo.

Other pictures I have taken at our world famous zoo can be seen in my creatively named San Diego Zoo album.

The Xenar lens is of the Tessar design. Tessars comprise 4 elements in three groups and have been around since 1902, so their optics are well-understood. There are no surprises with a Tessar. It is good at everything you want it to do, but excels at nothing. It's reasonably sharp, yet not very sharp , and it keeps chromatic and spherical aberrations under control. On the other hand, there also is no excitement.

Well the excitement of seeing the osprey's gone now, seeing our badgers every night I want to bring them in and keep them safe, as stoopid as that sounds. Our neighbour keeps blocking one of their holes under the fence, the badgers keep coming from the front as though someone between our garden and their sett has blocked them. That's my worst nightmare the thought that idiots round here might believe all the rubbish the NFU and Paterson are spewing from their dangerously ignorant faces. Sorry for not keeping up with everyone, I'm just fed up with everything in the universe right now and need to take my frustration out on violent computer games.

Danke.

There was some excitement in my neighborhood when the wind knocked a tree down. Went through a fence and took down some wires, but managed to avoid major damage it would seem.

Yes, it's yet another picture of this dress, but it illustrates how excited I am at the moment.

Because tomorrow I'm marching in the Sydney Mardi Gras parade! I'm going to look FABULOUS!

There will be pictures. I hope.

And I'm very excited. Did I say?

I would be excited to participate in a cattle roundup too at this age.
