Paramotor Team was invited to do a show at Putrajaya Int. Ballon Fiesta. As early as 7:30am , the sky of Putrajaya was populated with paramotors, lots of hot air balloons with various colors and shape that come from country like Belgium, Japan, England, France,Holland,USA and many other countries that I can't remember their name. Since this type of event is very rare in Malaysia the excitement of being part of the team for this event was unspeakable. ===============================================

I have not been out much taking pictures this year. However, I am starting to get into the mood again as winter is approaching. Let's hope that we get some decent amount of snow this year and not just wet and windy weather. :-)

Another shot from my first attempt at shooting from the hip. This was taken under Hungerford bridge in London. There were shadows behind and shadows cast by a elevator to street level behind me that let through a shaft of sunlight which I thought would help to emphasise my victims as they passed by. The sun was fading for this one but there was just enough to make it work. I was on the lookout for little moments beyond just people walking past and these kids giggling as if plotting something mischievous seemed a perfect subject. I manually pre-focused at around 3-4 metres as I had no way of getting the AF point over the subject at hip level and to avoid missing shots whilst trying to focus. Well, Saturday was such a rip-roaring excitement-filled success on Flickr on Saturday, that I've decided what's most appropriate for Sunday should be and was chosen by me, blindfolded and throwing a dart. (I would have thrown a draught, but everyone knows that just a waste of a glass of beer.)

So, here is a tangled plant comprived of two Pavonia lasiopetala less than a mile from home. Pavonia lasiopetala is a species of flowering plant in the mallow family known by the common names that include Texas swamp-mallow, Wright pavonia, and rock rose. It is native to Texas in the United States and Coahuila and Nuevo León in Mexico.

This is a shrubby perennial herb growing up to 4 feet tall. The alternately arranged leaves have toothed or lobed edges and are up to 2.5 inches long. The flowers have five red or pink petals and bloom from June until the fall months. They are attractive to hummingbirds. They also have thorns which really hurt.

Many animals feed on the plant, including livestock. It is added to seed mixes used to vegetate rangeland in its native range. What they failed to mention is that Black-tailed mule deer, of which Mt. Diablo has tons, love to come into neighborhood and eat all rose bushes, rock or otherwise, which tens to get 90 year olds with guns out to eradicate the threat to their gardens, but usually just eradicate a neighbor or two.

P.S. If you're thinking of growing these, they have the capacity to become weedy. Now, to say that they have "the capacity" to become weedy ... well, doesn't that imply that rock roses can become weedy if they wanted to and that there is such a thing as free will for roses?

The only difference between Fear and Excitement is your attitude about it.

A shot I got from outside the Glassblowers school looking in, I saw there was some excitement over some pieces of glass, the OSU glass cap, that is Oklahoma State University.

Excited children at the elementary school this morning when this one landed. I crew on a balloon and must say this pilot did an excellent job landing here considering the wires, trees and splash pool.

A photo from 7 July 2015, taken at a wetland area in SW Calgary, when I called in for just an hour after a doctor's appointment. Baby Coots are such ugly little things that they are cute, ha. Love the way they flap those tiny wings when they are being fed. I don't know if this is Mom or Dad, but s/he was doing a great job of collecting water plants to feed to the babies.

"The waterborne American Coot is one good reminder that not everything that floats is a duck. A close look at a coot—that small head, those scrawny legs—reveals a different kind of bird entirely. Their dark bodies and white faces are common sights in nearly any open water across the continent, and they often mix with ducks. But they’re closer relatives of the gangly Sandhill Crane and the nearly invisible rails than of Mallards or teal." From AllAboutBirds.

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I just loved the way this woman was watching a bagpiper with her head resting on her hand. She smiled broadly at me after I captured the shot and I like to think that I added a little bit of excitement to her day. Enjoy!

A small crowd gathered at Exeter to watch Garratt locomotive 6029 steam through on it's transfer run to Goulburn for the weekends Southern Steam Spectacular tour, organised by Cruise Express.

The passengers would travel from Central to Goulburn the next day on heritage carriages, behind heritage diesels before having the engine changed to the Garratt.

I wanted to fill the frame with the visual excitement I felt as I absorbed the beauty of traditional Japanese architecture at Kennin-ji.

The wooden structures and clay-tiled roofs of the temple buildings are magnificent and full of intricate details.

Kennin-ji is a historical Zen Buddhist temple in Higashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. It is one of the so-called Kyoto Gozan or "five most important Zen temples of Kyoto".

Our chicks had their trackers fitted about 6 weeks ago and to our great excitement we have been able to get some downloads from them. At the moment we are only doing these weekly but the patterns have already shown how the chicks are developing in confidence. This map is the one of Big Yan, 12’s first tentative flights after fledging on July 20th. For much of the time he was in the nest but the orange lines show us he went up and sat on the open fellside above and down to a tree on the other side of the A592. So, for the first time we were able to know exactly where a chick had gone when he flew out of our sight. What amazing technology! (Can you spot Bassenthwaite Lake at the top left with the Derwent River leading out of it? And the main road and forest roads?)
