Facing this contemporary building, I wanted to capture the essence of its striking geometry. By choosing a low-angle composition and high-contrast black and white treatment, I sought to transform this architectural structure into an image where lines and shapes take center stage. The dark sky and repetitive patterns of the facade create a visual dialogue that naturally draws the eye upward.
This photograph explores how modern architecture shapes our cities. The simplicity of lines, the power of contrast, and the pure geometry of the building reveal an abstract beauty in our everyday urban environment. I wanted to share this vision of architecture becoming art, where function transforms into pure aesthetics.
Die Essenz einer Sache, einer Erfahrung, einer Geschichte, einer Person zu finden ist zwar eine Utopie, aber wir geben den Dingen unsere eigene Essenz... :)

A mostly cloudy Sunday morning had a few slivers of reasonable sunlight. The restored ore carrier William A Irvin is at Fraser Shipyards for a new paint job, making for a nice backdrop as this BNSF job pulls cars from CHS in Superior.

As a photographer you take photos because you are recording what your eye is seeing at the time and for me I use this medium as an art form, and from time to time I get goose bumps when I look through the view finder and see something out of the ordinary, and this is one of those shots.
I took this one this morning at around 7.00am my first sunrise outing for some time and to come back with this kind of shot made it all worth while, it even shows up some cobweb strands, and I just LOVE that water droplet at the tip of that thorn!
Frangies in my garden, taken this arvie.
They smell wonderful, but if I pick them and float them in a pretty bowl of water to fragrance indoors, they don't last long.
Frangipanis, known elsewhere as Plumeria.
In Hawaii, they are made into necklaces, called 'Leis', like a daisy chain and everyone wears these.
Even the guys, but in a more manly style ;)
An amazing, traditional 'fashion accessory' in the humid, warm climate.
When I was there, the coolness of the petals on one's skin and inhaling the constant sweet perfume was so intoxicating and refreshing.
What a beautiful thing to do.
Other flowers are used too, like the arabian jasmine for the pikake lei, all depending upon the occasion, or message when given as a gift.

Thanks to a friend I was blessed to have a brief encounter with this gentle young soul. Lens was almost fully extended and image is cropped; I was not as close as it might seem.

Water. The essence of life as we know it, filters its way through everything, bringing us life and sustenance. Enjoy.
I would be grateful for an identification from any of you fungi experts! :o) No, I didn't eat them... they deserve to be left where they are. View from the top below..... thank you!!!

Someone had hung some white(ish) material from a tree, probably as a makeshift tent and the evening lighted sky was shining through.
