Evening view from Melkevoll in the heart of the beautiful Oldedalen. The great Volefoss or The Vole waterfall has a free fall of 185 meters and is the 45th highest waterfall in Norway.

In all it's divine glory....the essence of a Tiger lily !
This is the beginning of several shots that i will present to you dear Flickr friends. I came across an amazing sight of one very tall stock that stemmed 12 Tiger Lilies. Though they all were not yet in bloom i decided of course to shoot the individual ones that were blooming. I kept coming back each day to see if more of the 12 had bloomed. In this shot you can see one that is fully bloomed and two above that are soon to bloom...reaching for the essence to bloom. As you will see in the upcoming days different views of different blooming Tiger Lilies from this same stock....Enjoy !

When you remove all distractions, reduce everything down to mere necessities, you have only what matters. The essence.

The Retezat National Park (Romanian: Parcul Naţional Retezat) is a protected area located in the Retezat Mountains in Hunedoara county, Romania. Founded in 1935, it is the oldest national park in the country and categorized as a category II IUCN national park.
Retezat is particularly notable for its biodiverse flora, with over one thousand species of plants present within the park. It is also home to some of the last remaining pristine old-growth forests in Europe. Despite its protected status, recent decades saw an increase in damaging activities such as logging and sheep-grazing in the park, as well as threats to its status as public propriety.
In 1979, UNESCO included the park in the Man and the Biosphere Program international network of biosphere reserves, while in 1993 it was included by the International Union for Conservation of Nature among its demonstration projects on sustainable rural development. In 2008 it was granted the European Diploma of Protected Areas.
This picture was taken in the North Side of the Retezat National Park, in Stanisoara Valey, a gorgeous Jurassic like area.
