.......they jumped to CN 3025. This unit will get renumbered to its correct "CN 2925" as it gets cycled thru. Reminds me of the "You only had one job to do" series of goofups.

I headed out to Trainfest a day early hoping to (finally) get a good shot of the Iowa Interstate at Blue Island, and was successful. The 501 is in charge of the daily transfer, and on this say is pointed in the proper direction. Blue Island, IL, November 20, 2024
UP ES44AC 7361 winds through the s-curve around the quarry as it enters LaGrange, IL. IHB is rapidly replacing any remaining searchlights in this area, as the majority of the signals have already been replaced. The stretch between Broadview and McCook remains untouched... for now.
Update: As of 1/28/11 the old searchlights here are now gone and a new LED cantilever signal bridge has taken its place.

CSX B780 storms north on the River Line at Hannacroix on a gloomy mid-December afternoon in 2023. Leading the way to the midwest with ethanol empties and being assisted by a UP SD70 was NS 8099, Norfolk Southern's Southern Railway heritage unit. Surprising to me was the lack of other railfans at this spot; I believe I was one of three.

NS ES44AC #8102, the Pennsylvania heritage unit, leads 580 under the classic signal bridge at Edgington Street. It's the first time I've seen this unit lead, and having it run through my establishment makes it even more sweet.
