After photographing 47749 from this bridge, we went for a walk which turned into a bit of a muddy mess. On our return I thought I'd try and take something arty with the dog, and whipped her up into sprinting up and down which led to her excitedly jumping up me, and covering me with all that mud off her paws...I'd hoped to have caught her a couple of steps further back to get more of a reflection but she was too quick.. 222016 passes on 1F22 St Pancras-Sheffield, Breaston 02/11/22.

Finally nice to get this in the flesh at last. With the HST's impending retirement, it was nice to see this in the flesh (before the HST leaves the MML for good).

170521 at Matlock after arriving with 2A16 1035hrs EMR service from Derby. It will return to Derby as 2A23 1115hrs departure from Matlock.

EMR Intercity HST's 43274+43102 The Journey Shrinker passing Cossington, with the 1C15 05.19 Leeds to St Pancras International, 23.04.2021
Heading back after a re-paint into EMR colours, 170517 passes Washwood Heath with 5T36 Crewe Carriage Sidings to Tyseley LMD. The unit had WMR decals along each coach, which makes it seem as though it will return to service with WMT before being sent of to EMR. (Note: the unit did indeed re-enter service with WMR before transfer to EMR).

43102 was the rear power car

InterCity Swallow liveried, East Midlands Railway operated class 43 no. 43102, 'The Journey Shrinker' stands on the blocks at London St. Pancras International having arrived from Nottingham at the head of 1B69 on 14th April 2021. EMR liveried 43274 was at the rear of the formation and would lead back to Leeds as 1F70.
170531 stands at Sheffield whilst standing in for the booked class 222 meridian working 1F57 the 18:10 Kettering to Sheffield. This been the first appearance of a 170 at Sheffield on an Intercity service since at least 2004. The unit now waiting to return empty to the depot and showing Not In Service as the destination
ROG 37800 'Cassiopeia' shatters the peace near the Great Ouse River on the outskirts of Ely on Tuesday 8th April 2025. The veteran EE locomotive drags two Class 465 EMU's towards Kingsbury EMR Sidings for scrapping. With the drone flying further east behind me, I worked out I had enough time to capture the consist closer to the river. I was lucky to have the boat enter shot in the final few seconds as the 37 accelerated towards Ely North Junction.

What will soon be a sight gone forever.. 43059 (at time one of approx 5 VP 185 Powercars left) is seen being dragged through Leeds by its MTU companion 43272.
43075 / 43061 on rear withdrawn from service due to engine failure now stored at Tyne yard (ex NL65)
31229 stands in the south bay at Warrington Bank Quay as a Provincial liveried 153 rolls into platform 4 working a Chester to Manchester service. In the summer of 1997 31229 was a regular in the Warrington area and it was in Arpley Yard, whilst being used as a shunt loco, that the loco came to grief colliding the rear end of a train which had been left foul of points at the south end of the yard. The damage sustained saw the loco withdrawn and, after languishing to the rear of the new inspection point, it was eventually despatched to EMR Kingsbury during August 2001 and scrapped by HNRC.
