Having noticed recently that the masts were appearing I visited the station today as I was in Haborough for a physio appointment.
From what I can see it looks like a clear shot from this side of the line will still be on after the wires go up
EMR Meridian 222014 was leaving with the 1B55 13.50 Nottingham to St Pancras International
Despite the loss of the colour light gantry I think there is still enough interest here for another visit in the near future when there is a chance of seeing more than just Meridians

Spotted 7E25 11:54 Crewe South Yard to Attercliffe Sdgs EWS running today and decided to pop down to Dore and Totley to catch another 37 drawing scrap through South Yorkshire. Like March more ex Mendip stone wagons. 37423 not as an exciting livery as the previous working, which I hadn't posted my side shot of.
On my second trip to the Eastern Maine Railway operation at Woodland I lucked out with a green GP38-3. I also got to visit with the conductor who I hadn't seen since he had left CP a few years prior.
As many of you know I wrote an article on Woodland for Railfan and Railroad, thinking it would be an easy story, however it took two more years of research to get everything wrapped up. This by far was my favorite photo I took of the line down there and I wish it had made it into the article.
On this day, the train can be seen crossing the frozen causeway to the north of the mill, with the mill in the background, while the conductor prepares to cut away from the log loads so they can do some switching moves at the mill. The snow on the ground is somewhat a rarity with this part of Maine not getting much if any accumulation due to its close proximity to the ocean.
If you are interested in the article it can be accessed online here: railfan.com/maine-attraction-woodland-rail/
I covered to the best of my ability all of the eras going back to the start of rail operations in the area, all the way to today along with information about what will be happening in the near future.

EMR 907 rumbles across the Eaton bog as they approach Danforth on their westbound trip on the Mattawamkeag Sub. They are catching the last slivers of weak daylight as they roll west with two SD70M-2's and 106 cars.
The first section of Eastern Maine Railway Train 907-26 crosses Route 2 in Mattawamkeag on 1/26/2022. At the time catching a SD70M-2 leading was fairly hard to do, with only 6 on the property and several down as trail only.
On this day SD70M-2's 6401 and 6402 along with NBSR SD40-2 8144 teamed up to move a lengthy train over EMR. In addition to this 907, a second one was crossing into the US about the time these guys hit Mattawamkeag. I can't remember if that one had a lease unit leading or if I wouldn't get them anywhere before dark, but I stuck with these guys the rest of the way to Brownville Jct.

The CP OCS (Royal Canadian Pacific as some call it, but that's a little too wordy for me) rumbles through Danforth, ME on the Eastern Maine Railway as a EMR worker does some finishing touches to the recently spruced up MOW shack at Danforth (which had been abandoned for a number of years). NBM has been doing a massive clean-up on the Mattawamkeag and McAdam Subdivisions in preparation for the west bound trip. Some of the work (like seen here) is being completed at the last possible second.

EMR Train 505-28 gets underway at Woodland for the trip south to Calais on 9/28/2022 with freshly painted GP38-3 911 in charge of a good sized train.
The expansive Woodland Pulp and Paper mill can be seen rising across the Saint Croix River. This mill provides 100% of the online business for the railroad and unlike virtually every other mill in the state, the mill here has been regularly expanding and is about to build a new tissue mill at a cost of $800 Million.
GP38-3 911 has since been pulled from service and shipped to Progress Rail where it will become a donor core for the GP31ECO program. Currently the 2317-19 and 3028 and 3095 are the only painted geeps in service.

Having started life as 4 Car Class 222/1 pioneer unit, 222104 is seen at Sheffield in its new 5 car formation. (Two 7 coach meridians, 222005 and 222006 were reduced to 5 coach meridians, to strengthen the ex 222/1 pioneers, to 5 cars.) Despite being the only meridian to receive the full EMR livery, at this time, the added coach was still in the interim livery, till EMR finally put the added coach in vinyl too.
