To learn how to respond and listen, participants did what’s called the "Empathy Walk", where they have group conversations to learn more about their new friends that come from various backgrounds.

United Way visited St. Bernard's Elementary in Witless Bay, NL as they had a visit with "their" baby.
Roots of Empathy is an evidence-based classroom program that has shown dramatic effect in reducing levels of aggression among schoolchildren by raising social/emotional competence and increasing empathy. The program reaches elementary schoolchildren from Kindergarten to Grade 8.

Ok, I had to do a macro on my new ring for two reasons: 1) It's an awesome ring. 2) Because I think for once I found something that signifies the balance in me. Tungsten steel and carbon fiber for the technomancer I will always be, on the bleeding edge of technology and synthetic. But it's still a ring, forged in tradition, worn by humans since the dawn of metallurgy and a sign of significance, a memory not to be forgotten.

February 28, 2015 / Students visited Frederick, Md., to tour the city's downtown area, meet with Zach Fleagle, Superintendent of Sanitation, and visit the city's anaerobic digester at the wastewater treatment plan, courtesy of Tara Fiery.
