We should spread more kindness, love, generosity, empathy to make this world and SL better ones.
Let's pray for Ukraine.

* Our state governor extended the stay-at-home order through May 31 to continue the social distancing strategy against the new coronavirus pandemic.
I salute him and his dedication to science and medicine.

"Empathy is our lifeline here. It’s what will get us to the other side. Let’s use it to redirect our attention toward what matters most, reconsider our priorities, and find ways to better remake the world in the image of our hopes."
—Michelle Obama, interview recently about Covid19
I cannot complain about quarantine or my inept attempts at folding paper and following youtube video instructions. We're still well, haven't lost everything, and even though things won’t return to the way they were, we'll find our way with the rest of you.
I hope you're all well, too. Perhaps trying new things if at home, too.
Against the waning of empathy.

♥ You don't teach morals and ethics and empathy and kindness in the schools. You teach that at home, and children learn by example !

Walked out to the lane to catch a snap of a mountain peak wearing a cap at sunset. But the cap or lenticular cloud rose quickly eclipsing Mount Baker. (Earlier photo in first comment.)
Good moments. A distant neighbor drove by on her way to pick up her mail. We chatted from a distance.
Sheltering at home. Waiting to vote. Black lives matter.
Thanks for looking. Please, no political comments. I can make them here, however.

Since M wrote a story, I am super proud and can rest this time! Please read her fantastic story called "There? Oh wait, let me think!". She did such a lively, enchanting and inspirational shot!

If there is one thing we humans seem to always need more of, it's empathy. Showing kindness and tenderness to all living creatures in this world keeps us connected and makes this a better world and a life worth living.
In recent years, we have continued a dangerous trend as humans, replacing generosity with greed and human interactions with screens. What we've stopped doing is being careful with each other and with all of the living things around us and have slowly stopped noticing the beauty and wonder, too. Let's try to get back to that.

The blue jay is a bird symbolizing fidelity and agreement. These magnificent birds are closely associated with the values of loyalty, solidarity, and empathy.
Love. It is an emotion that moves and inspires us, whether towards your partner, your parents, siblings, your pet, your country and also one that can feel impossible to adequately express. We just feel it and most of the time it is reciprocated. For a better world, give love a chance!
▪Thank you very much for your visit and for taking your time to comment! Much appreciated!▪
Empathic people aren't born that way, they're made. Their souls have experienced so much darkness but despite it all, they found a way to turn their lessons into light. These kind souls have chosen softness over hardness, they know compassion and tenderness are needed more in the world.

I just cannot believe that this is still continuing and that NOTHING is being done about it. All children belong to HUMANITY and should be covered by human rights!!!
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
In my fear of condemnation
I became silent in my pain
Perhaps this was why it was easier
To talk to the dead in the rain
No barrier to climb
No reason for judgement
Nothing left to gain
But sharing sorrows
And resentments
Revisiting old haunts and lost loves
Understanding yet again
It was safer in the darkness
Hiding away instead
Sharing this empathy
Quietly
With the dead
This piece of work starts off another series of images and poems that I have been working on based around a visit to Alfriston Church in Sussex, UK, and will be the start of another Album on Flickr, and no doubt some of these works will find their way onto my website.
If you have been following my work you will know that I often strike a melancholy note in my writing, however with this series of works from Alfriston they are of a much darker tone. When I visited this place with my camera I found it had a very unsettling atmosphere and if I am truthful I have to admit that I did not enjoy it very much. But out of this has come an opportunity to explore a different pathway that involved some interesting self-analysis.
If you would like to see my website find me here:

Bauxite is a rare survivor, a tank engine only ever in industrial use, preserved over 60 years ago and left largely as it was when it ceased working at a chemical plant at Hebburn near the Tyne. It was built in 1875 by Black Hawthorn in Gateshead
