In 1963, Sydney Guilaroff designed Elizabeth Taylor's wigs for Cleopatra. His designs were constructed by Bill Huntley, head wig maker at Wig Creations in London. Known for his lightweight wigs, Huntley designed and made wigs for both Broadway plays and films, inclduing Tootsie (1982) and The Addams Family (1991). Joan Crawford discovered Guilaroff at a New York hair salon in the early 1930s. She took him to Hollywood, where he spent three decades designing wigs and hairstyles for the top stars at MGM. Guilaroff was an expert at creating hairstyles that allowed actors to play period pieces without compromising contemporary ideas of beauty.

The Museum of the Moving Image, located at 36-01 35 Avenue in Astoria, promotes the public understanding and appreciation of the art, history, technique and technology of film, television, and digital media by collecting, preserving, and providing access to moving-image related artifacts via multimedia exhibitions and educational programming. Originally established in 1977 as the Astoria Motion Picture and Television Center Foundation, opened on September 10, 1988, in the former East Coast home as Paramount Pictures as the first museum in the United States that was evoted solely to the art, history and technology of film, television and video. Following a $67 million expansion by architect Thomas Lesser, starting in March 2008, the museum doubled its size and reopened in January 2011.

The 1994 movie "The Flintstones" used the Bronson Caves located in the Hollyrock Hills to film part of the opening scenes. The Bronson Caves have been used for hundreds of filming projects which include Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Scorpion King, and more notably, the TV series Batman.

R: Joseph L. Mankiewicz Cu: Elizabeth Taylor, Katherine Hepburn, Montgomery Clift

I codici di autoregolamentazione in vigore, noti come Codice Hays, costrinsero però Vidal a togliere qualsiasi riferimento diretto all'omosessualità.

Elizabeth Taylor, by Andy Warhol

This has been the longest, sleepiest week in recent history. It began with heavy duty muscle relaxers and an ajumma walking on, stepping on and twisting me into a variety of shapes after a muscle spasm on a longstanding injury last week. I am pretty badass when it comes to physical pain, but this one broke me. I cried through the last half hour of treatment. But it worked.

By Thursday, I was standing up straight again and yoga-ing for the first time in a week.

In other news, I spent too much money, I cleaned, I ate greek food, these things began, I sneezed a lot, it rained and I decided to homage Hannah, though will openly admit her badassness is hard to replicate.
