This is the one and only photo of Benni with the elf hat on. She quickly learned that one good shake of her head would dislodge it and that was that. More photos of her in the costume will appear from time to time but the hat is gone.
I was taking a Midnight stroll with a couple of Pixies in the Enchanted Forest when suddenly; I heard a beautiful siren song emanating from every direction. My first impression was a young, female Faery with long, blonde hair hanging down to her waist and wearing a beautiful pearl white gown. The Pixies laughed at me, as I stood there awestruck by the beautiful voice. They then told me about the old legend of the Siren. She was half human and half elf with a hunchback posture. The Elves left this little girl all alone into the deepest, deserted parts of the Enchanted Forest where she cannot find her way home. Fortunately enough, the little kind, loving fruit faeries and nature faeries left her fruits and nuts every morning while she was asleep.
As I resonate with the rhythm of her song, I am inspired in creating my rendition of the beautiful Siren as touches my soul and others. Her name is Pearleen

This Mexican species is classified as a tropical crescent. It was once a rare stray into South Texas & SE Arizona. This species is most active mid-morning and the few times I've seen them it always been near a creek or small stream. Sycamore Canyon, Santa Cruz County, Arizona.

This Christmas elf was "guarding" the landing going to the 3rd floor of the shop we love to stop at on our way to Highland County. (the one with the best popcorn ever). It was about 3 1/2 feet to 4 feet tall and I think it's the stuff that gives Kids nightmares so it's kind of funny that Anita walked right by it and never noticed it! LOL Taken on last Sundays adventures. (haven't even had a chance to look at yesterdays photos yet!)

Scarlet Elf Cup / sarcoscypha austriaca. Cloud Wood, Leicestershire. 14/03/20.
Side detail of a small, though mature Scarlet Elf Cup. It was growing up through moss on a rotten twig and you can just see the top of it's pale stem. Often the stem isn't visible at all.
Scarlet Elf Cups are a popular food source for slugs and small rodents. Interestingly, every fruiting body I found that day had multiple holes eaten in it, just like this one.
BEST VIEWED LARGE.

Gracie was happy to wear the elf costume; she does everything in life with great gusto, and Benni was delighted to pass it on to her BFF. It's going to stay with Gracie, who even will wear the hat.
“The last book I picked up had a picture of the Stranger on the front cover. Although his eyes were not nearly as beautiful in my dream state, they still took my breath away. I opened it up curiously and there was one word written in a large, bolded font: FATE.”

I bought myself a 40mm macro lens... I think it will be helpful for shots like this when I want a slightly wider angle of view than my usual 60mm lens. So far I like it!
