If you read my description in my last photo of Dylan, you know how hard these were to get. I am surprised any of them came out. Of course, quite grainy due to 1600 ISO, but, hey, I got some.
Decided to take a break and head to the Orpheum theater to see Bob Dylan with a couple friends. This was when we got home, but had to get a pick. 😊
Dylan was always there for me when I needed him. He was there for me even when I didn't need him. He was the type of person that I could call at 4 in the morning with a problem, and he'd talk me through it. (...and that actually happened several times.)
A true best friend.
He died about a year and a half ago. I was in Italy at the time, so I couldn't even make it to the funeral. I still cry sometimes, and not a day goes by when I don't miss him.
This photo:
Because he lived back at home, and I was away at college most of the year, our friendship played out mainly on the phone and online.
Anyway, I kept a Livejournal, and on one of my more lengthy entries, I ended by mentioning how long the entry was, saying that I'd be surprised if anyone would actually take the time to read it.
This was his reply.
I miss you Dylan...
Taken for FGR - Someone Once Told Me
Bob Dylan. I love Bob, me. ‘Blonde on Blonde’ and ‘Highway 61 Revisited’ from his ‘60s output are worthy of repeated visits. OK, that voice puts a lot of people off, but the melodies and words make it worth the effort. ‘Blood on the Tracks’ is the masterpiece, the one I’d take to the island.
They say that when men hit 33, they have their ‘Christ phase’. That’s the age Jesus died. Men question what it’s all about and attempt to do something meaningful, worthwhile, mature. Bob was 33, divorced, the Sixties well and truly over, Vietnam still dragging on, Watergate crushing any remaining illusion that America was land of the free, home of the brave. So, Bob comes up with his greatest set of ‘story’ songs. Songs of love, loss, growing old. Great lyrics and some of his best ever tunes.
‘Tangled Up in Blue’ kicks it off. This song alone makes it all worthwhile. ‘Simple Twist of Fate’ slows it down with gentle strum and light touch. ‘You’re a Big Girl’ with gorgeous picking and yearning vocal. ‘Idiot Wind’ with swirling organ and maliciously funny put-down lyrics. ‘You’re Gonna Make me Lonesome When you Go’, slow bass and jangly guitar with happy-sad tune. ‘Meet me in the Morning’ lurching bluesily with weary picking and high hat. ‘If You See Her, Say Hello’, acoustic guitars and heartbreak. ‘Shelter from the Storm’ should be played at every wedding on the planet, by law. ‘Buckets of Rain’ ends the album with gorgeous guitar and bubbling bass sending us off with a smile on our faces.
An album for grown-ups, of all ages.

Me on the dorm balcony of the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Dylan was played on the record player non-stop. I was so lost. It was a dark time for me, thus the heavy grain effect. I remember that sweater, it was olive green. I forgot just how long my hair was at that time.
5 years ago today my life was changed. And since then it's changed more and more. I'm so happy and thankful to have him in my life. As I've helped him grow, he's helped me mature.
Happy birthday "Bucky". I can't wait to see what God has in store for you.

Dylan (4) has commandeered the house Chromebook, using it primarily to view diggers, Peppa Pig and bus simulators. Hopefully, he will figure out how to click into full screen himself.
Dylan Thomas the Welsh poet used this boat house to write. There are extensive views across the bay which perhaps provided him with inspirations. As you can see the boat house has been left as it was as a shrine to the poet. The furniture came from the main Thomas household.
In this shed, Dylan wrote many of his finest works. The first poem he wrote was "Over Sir John’s Hill" in which he describes the view from the shed, and in which he talks of birds stalking their prey and bringing death in the midst of this beauty. Life, death, beauty, tragedy, eternity and God: Dylan could see them all from his window in this unique place. www.dylanthomasboathouse.com/english/boathouse/history.html

John Lennons car was a 1965 example, delivered 3rd June 1965, originally registered FJB 111 C and finished in black.. And it was in this form that the Fab Four drove to Buckingham Palace to receive their MBEs. In December 1965 John had a Sterno Radio Telephone fitted, and in 1966 the rear seat was modified to convert to a double bed, A custom interior/exterior sound system was installed along with a "loud hailer.", along with Sony television; telephone and a portable refrigerator. By February 1966 the car ws matt black, including its radiator and chrome trim. But in April 1967, Lennon took the car to J.P. Fallon Limited, a coachworks company located in Chertsey, Surrey to explore the possibility of having his car painted psychedelic, the artist Steve Weaver's pattern of scroll and flowers was chosen and the cost of the work was £ 2000 with Warner receiving £ 290.
The newly painted car drew awe and outrage in different circles. The Beatles used the car from 1966-69. In 1970 John and Yoko had the car shipped to the United States. And when available was loaned to other pop stars, the Rolling Stones, the Moody Blues, and Bob Dylan all used it at various times. The car eventually being put into storage. In 1977 Lennon was having problems with the US Inland Revenue, and the couple did a deal whereby the car would go to the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York City, a part of the Smithsonian Institute, for a $225,000 tax credit. After a short period on display the car returned to storage as the Museum could not afford the insurance to display it. In June 1985 the Museum took the decision to offer the car at auction. with Sothebys at an estimate of 200 to 300,000 US dollars, but it realised $2,299,000 (U.S.) and was purchased by Mr. Jim Pattison’s Ripley International Inc., of South Carolina for exhibition at Ripley’s "Believe It Or Not" museum. The purchase of the Phantom V through Sotheby’s resulted it being listed as the most expensive car in the world and installed with the South Carolina license plates LENNON. The Phantom V was then loaned to Expo ‘86 in Vancouver (Chairman: Mr. Jim Pattison) for exhibition. The American title was transferred from Ripley International Inc. to Jim Pattison Industries Ltd., in Canada. 1987, Mr. Pattison presented the car as a gift to Her Majesty in Right of the Province of British Columbia and displayed in the Transportation Museum of British Columbia at Cloverdale (near Vancouver). Then, in 1993, the car was transferred from the Transportation Museum and sent to the Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria, British Columbia. Here the car would be kept for secure storage, displayed only for fund-raising and occasional use. The car was serviced and maintained by Bristol Motors of Victoria. .
