This is backside of The Basilica of Saint Nicholas, Amsterdam. This is the place where famous Red Light District begins (no camera allowed). But from here you can see and enjoy Dutch architect, canal system, Dutch bicycles (where 38% people bike everyday), eat famous Dutch pancakes & waffles and buy Holland Ceramics.
The traditional Dutch Inland craft Goede Verwachting (Good Expectation) passed by early this morning. The 26.5 x 5.3 m boat was sailing close to the Danish coast, about 8 km
away from my balcony, so I could not get a closer shot. Goede Verwachting is according to Marine Traffic on her way from Copenhagen to Gothenburg (Sweden).

For a while, the public were treated to some daring displays by this Dutch Air Force F27M Troopship with Major 'Boy' Soons at the helm.

Colorful skies behind this windmill in the Amsterdam area in the Netherlands. I don't often find myself shooting these iconic Dutch landscapes, but when these conditions presented themselves it was hard to pass up on the opportunity to grab a few shots!
A late summer sunset at Holland State Park over Lake Michigan. About 500 people crowded Ottawa Beach that evening to catch this beautiful event.
Holland is home to the HJ Heinz Co. and the world's largest pickle factory....

The emblematic `Erasmus Bridge´ connecting right and left river bank in Rotterdam. The bridge, constructed in 1996, is nicknamed ´the Swan´.
Taken from the Holland-Amerikakade (Holland-America Quay), hence the title.
Through this location millions of emigrants streamed aboard vessels that would take them to their new homeland, America. Invisible to you, behind me, is the former headoffice of the Holland-America Line (HAL) that is now a well-known hotel, Hotel New York.
I was extemely lucky to get this exceptional cloud formation. It only lasted minutes.
