having spent a good 3 minutes 'dusting' (or rather undusting) the right eye of this cat with a cloning tool, i decided there were better ways to spend my time and/or energy. ~grin~ like maybe i could remove the dust in reality and then repost the picture??

is that sort of like revisionist history??

have a wonderful wednesday, folks 💙

7 days 7 photos, one guitar. Late posting as my computer died. And it's more than 7 photos! Bonus!

One of the main reasons for visiting Namibia is in the hope of seeing desert adapted animals, in particular Elephants.

We took a small plane up to the north of the Skeleton Coast to an area known as the Hoanib Valley. Considered one of the last true wilderness areas, Hoanib river is dry most of the time, but provides an oasis for wildlife in a very harsh environment. The flight was well worth doing to explore one of the most remote areas of the country, and one of the best places to look for desert adapted Elephants.

One our first morning we came across a small herd just as they were having a dust bath. They do this to help with thermoregulation, as well as providing sunscreen and removing parasites.

Matteo's favorite toy looks like a feather duster! In this photo, he's debating whether to jump up and grab it. He did...but I couldn't hold the phone steady enough to grab that shot! 😕

Thanks to all for viewing, faving and/or commenting! Much appreciated! L

Happy Caturday!

Unit 8 Ward X and W.

This building no longer exists as of September 2017.

It hasn't rained in weeks at the time of this photo, so it's evident that all sorts of dust and debris is up in the air during this period of dry weather. The Empire Builder, meanwhile, departs Saint Paul, Minnesota passing Dayton's Bluff after ducking under Saint Paul's famous signal bridge adorned with searchlight signals.

Vestiges of the Great Depression: Colorized with TLC by Smedley Smoots from Dorothea Lange's original B&W photo.

Another shot from Nxai Pan, Botswana.

Taken just before sunset, September 2018.

"Nxai Pan National Park is a national park in north-eastern Botswana, consisting of Nxai Pan, which is one of the Makgadikgadi Pan salt flats. Nxai Pan National Park lies just north of the Maun-Nata main road and adjoins Makgadikgadi Pans National Park on its northern border. The pan itself is a fossil lake bed about 40 square km in size."

One benefits of going to the same wetlands for 13 years is learning the favorite spots for certain behaviors. This one spot has been used by hummingbirds to towhees

Thank you for viewing, faving or commenting on my images, have a great day!

A slight dusting of snow caught on the branches of these larches as the morning light hits the top of the trees

Come bumble-footed ones,

dust squigglers, furry ripplers,

inchers and squirmers

humble in gray and brown,

find out our secret places,

devour our hearts,

measure us, geometer, with your curved teeth!

Leaves lick at the window, clouds

stream away,

yet we lie here,

perfect,

locked in our dark chambers

when we could rise in you

brief, splendid

twenty-plume, gold-

spotted ghost, pink scavenger,

luna whose pale-green wings

glow with moons and planets

at one with the burning world

whose one desire is to escape itself.

The Random Matter Moth Halo at C88 was extremely inspiring. I needed to do something with it. So uh - here. Bit messy and still trying to find my legs again, but i'm happy with it. k thnx.

A light dusting of snow the night before made the colorful scene at Painted Canyon more mute. Still, a beautiful area.

It was once a paint brush but when the handle broke it became my dust brush. I'm sure I've had it longer than I've had my Pentax K200D in the background, i.e. 2008. HMM

U789 rides through the sag into Faribanks, Minnesota. Definitely dust season as they hit track speed.

Are you goin' to help me..? 😕

You and I in a little toy shop

Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got

Set them free at the break of dawn

'til one by one, they were gone

Back at base, bugs in the software

Flash the message, "Something's out there"

Floating in the summer sky

99 red balloons go by

99 red balloons

Floating in the summer sky

Panic bells, it's red alert

There's something here from somewhere else

The war machine, it springs to life

Opens up one eager eye

Focusing it on the sky

As 99 red balloons go by

99 Decision Street

99 ministers meet

To worry, worry, super-scurry

Call out the troops out in a hurry

This is what we've waited for

This is it, boys, this is war

The president is on the line

As 99 red balloons go by

99 knights of the air

Ride super high-tech jet fighters

Everyone's a super hero

Everyone's a Captain Kirk

With orders to identify

To clarify and classify

Scramble in the summer sky

99 red balloons go by

99 red balloons go by

99 dreams I have had

In every one a red balloon

It's all over and I'm standin' pretty

In this dust that was a city

If I could find a souvenir

Just to prove the world was here...

And here is, a red balloon

I think of you and let it go

there is no more stone! it has become dust. going to my album 'matières, you can see it before when it was already a stone who lost its color.
