Deboli tramonti, alta marea…..

Low ebb, high tide
The lowest ebb and highest tide
I guess we took us for a ride
I guess its just a gesture.
At the end of the continent
At the edge of the continent
This is the view from my west balcony. The water tower is what I use to gauge how far north or south it is traveling as the seasons come and go. Im actually looking to the northwest.
At the height of summer the sun sets well to the right of the water tower. Two months later, as in this shot, it is to the left. And even later, during the dead of winter, the sun is completely off this frame to the far left. Probably off your monitor........lol.
As of today, the sun is still off your monitor but it is making its way north again. In due time, it will be June 21st again and the sun will be well to the right of the water tower once again.
And that will be Summer :-)
Have a great weekend everyone!!
These aspens are always among the very last to lose their leaves in the fall near this lake. I usually have a tinge of melancholy when the leaves finally fade and drop off the trees. The season of color is comparitively short. I am grateful for the fabulous fall colors we have had this year in our region that have lasted longer and later than any year I can remember due to mild and calm conditions.
During a recent trip to RSPB Lakenheath fen, it was great to see & hear so many Cuckoos. As evening approached, there was lots of activity, with Males chasing each other, or chasing the Females around in the Poplars. I photographed this one as he flew past in front of me. Not the greatest shot, due to the light, but I'm pleased as it's a first-time capture.

I am very grateful for single invites but really don't want multiple ones. PLEASE no personal graphics, spinning or flashing comments. They stress my eyes.
Not able to get out this morning, but the weather forecast offered an afternoon of full sun.
By the time we were able to get out the sky was still overcast and grey, but the weather forecast was still promising afternoon sun.
We decided to go to one of our newly found sites in Northwest Leicestershire and searched the area we have been watching, nothing was flying.
We didn't locate any other despite butterflies being plentiful over the previous days. I then spotted two Common Blues' on a seed head which I assumed to be ♂ and ♀ due to there size difference and their wings tightly closed. We watched and too various shots over 20 minutes until it became too windy,
I swapped bodies for the last sequence of shots
These are Canon R7 shots before I switched to the R8.
Due to the cross-boundary truck service was suspended between Hong Kong and China during the fifth-wave of pandemic, air transport was arranged to maintain the logistics.
Everyday, 2 SF airlines flights depart from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, a single trip only takes around 22 minutes in the air.
A stack or sea stack is a geological landform consisting of a steep and often vertical column or columns of rock in the sea near a coast, formed by wave erosion. Stacks typically form in horizontally-bedded sedimentary or volcanic rocks (clearly seen above on what is probably a 25-30m-high stack), particularly on limestone cliffs. Stacks are formed over time by wind and water, processes of coastal geomorphology.
They are formed when part of a headland is eroded by hydraulic action, which is the force of the sea or water crashing against the rock. The force of the water weakens cracks in the headland, causing them to later collapse, forming free-standing stacks and even a small island. Without the constant presence of water, stacks also form when a natural arch collapses under gravity, due to sub-aerial processes like wind erosion. Erosion causes the arch to collapse, leaving the pillar of hard rock standing away from the coast - the stack. Eventually, erosion will cause the stack to collapse, leaving a stump. Stacks can provide important nesting locations for seabirds, and many are popular for rock climbing.
The stack above is one of the world-famous Twelve Apostles in Port Campbell National Park, seen in early morning sunshine. The Twelve Apostles are a collection of limestone stacks by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. Their proximity to one another has made the site a popular tourist attraction - although I was the only person around at this time of day!

When I noticed that my last photo uploaded, from relatively recently (ie. not edits from my travels seven years ago or screenshots of my Flickr group), was from back in September 2014 I knew something had to be done. There was no way I was going to commit myself to a 365 slog through photography attempts, but one per week for a year did not seem daunting at all.
For this shot I knew that I wanted to get a shot of this ravine because I knew there was a series of bridges crossing it (in holding with the first theme, Bridge and Tunnel). I was eyeing the steep and snowy sides and gauging my commitment to getting the shot when I noticed this scene happening well within zoom range. I took several shots, all with different backgrounds due to the traffic on the bridge. The two figures was my favourite, which is why you are looking at it now ... obviously.
Looking forward to the rest of my 52s, all 51 of them.
This storm produced a ton of lightning that started due south of where I was all the way to due east before it went behind a hill. It was awesome to see the storm moving steadily across the horizon all the while producing a wonderful light show.
'Ciattella' is a word from the dialect of Genoa and means a person who loves to gossip .
These two old women were very annoying
Due to a problem with Clun Castle 20205 and 20189 were employed on the Shakespeare Express tours over the summer and they proved a real hit with photographers. With 205 leading here 1T51 makes its way through the Warwickshire countryside on the first run of the day to Stratford-upon-Avon.
Ci livella tutti, ci fa sentire tutti uguali, esposti, piccoli e frustrati.
