My character Jean-Baptiste at Mischief Managed roleplay.

Jean-Baptiste and his alter ego in New Orleans.

I wanted to photograph a scene like this when visiting Stokksnes earlier this year. I was looking for a mirror like reflection for balance and symmetry. I did not get one perfectly still and clear reflection but I am still very happy with this photo.

HBW - if this qualifies!

I guess this pond wasn't big enough for the both of them.

Forest Lawn Cemetery, Burnaby, BC.

A shot from back in my Rebel days (Canon Rebel that is). I'm still screwing around with old photos in Lightroom while I try to find the temerity to get into Photoshop. Am I the only one who finds PS completely intimidating? It's as if the shear power of the program keeps me away from discovering all it can possibly do for me.

Yellow and green

The Yellow Wagtails have just returned to Somerset for their summer breeding season. These two were having a bit of a dual. Interestingly one has a blue head.

The Falls Road works in Brockport with RS32's 2035 and 2002. They would set off the 2002 in Brockport to be based out of there as business picks up on this end of the line.

A Wapiti (Cervus canadensis) bull from Rocky Mountain National Park, Larimer County, Colorado.

This is a bull that I named Hothead. He was particularly aggressive, and despite losing battles to both Scarface and Siete, he continued do challenge area bulls and work to reform lost harems. He had interesting, asymmetrical antlers, with 5 tines on the right side and 7 on the left (though one of these, the brow tine, had already been broken off, presumably in a recent fight).

I liked the lighting here, illuminating half his face with warm evening light, while the other half was darkened by shadow. We will never know the minds of animals, and the sensations they experience is largely a mystery. It is clear to me, however, that they do experience some form of many of the emotions familiar to us, including those that we admire and abhor. A bull elk in rut, for example, is proud, lustful, aggressive, and merciless. But he can also be gentle, patient, and fiercely protective. I prefer not to anthropomorphize animals, however at their core, many species are not so different from us.

The end to an epic sunset in the mountains...loving the contrast of this scene.

So I'm visiting the Inlet in Fort Pierce Florida. On this blustery day the Brown Pelicans are all over diving for fish. I thought, there must an abundance fish hanging around. So I take a few photos. What are the odds of me getting two Pelicans diving at the exact same time. I was amazed!

Depending upon your size and flexibility, of course.

A pair of SD40-2's switch the west end of Oakwood yard in Melvindale Mi as the sunsets on another fall day.

I have seen a few people post this shot and I wanted to give it a go on my last trip. The image is made up from a 5 shot bracket making most of the image. I then shot the monorails at a high iso to freeze them in the low light and then masked them in photoshop. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Even though I didnt have the patience to wait on two colors.
