A dry cleaning place down by Carondelet Park that's kind of falling apart. Was in the mood to take some pics with my D70 yesterday since I finally got a new charger for it.

The Lifestyle Center is centrally located on Kloof Street, offering residents and visitors alike a stylish shopping center in the Gardens neighborhood. Despite being rather on the small side, it offers anything one would need in a major shopping center. There is a Woolworths and Wellness Warehouse for groceries, the latter is one of the places in the city where one can buy a bottle of wine on Sundays. A stationary store, postal service, boutiques, drycleaner and gym are all located on the premises as well as a couple of eateries like Kauai. Wine Concepts on the first floor is a boutique wine seller hosting regular tasting evenings, and an offshoot of the Labia Theater screens mainstream and art-house movies. -Bordeaux Martin

It was a drycleaners, very famous but absorbed into Sketchleys, so I don't remember this shop, Sketchleys were just up the road but it's now a Costa Coffee, this is a barbers salon.
The new (olde) sweet shop next door uses the same sort of lighting above the signage.

Abandoned laundromat and dry cleaner. Closed about 2 years now... unclaimed dry cleaning hanging still... building is on the market which probably means that someone will tear it down in favor of some modern ugliness...

In the window of a dry cleaner near my apartment. Had been planning on going out to the open mic last night, but that ended up not happening.
As of January 10th, 2022, this part of Armen Cleaners has been demolished. Apparently there is a lot of soil to remove, contaminated with past dry-cleaning fluid.
Former Payless Cleaners located at 3540 Clayton Rd. in Concord,CA. The store which is now operates under the name BEST cleaners still displays the original Payless penguin on the exterior signs! For what its worth the idea behind having a penguin as a mascot for a dry cleaners became clear in the company motto which read "Payless Cleaners Helps Cool Inflation".
NOTE: There were more than thirty Payless Cleaners stores operating throughout Northern California in the mid 1970's. The official "Payless Cleaners" chain is now defunct but a few locations retain the name; similar to Norge Village laundromats.
There was never a relation between these laundromats and Payless Drug Stores even though the two chains were occasionally located in the same shopping center.
A great old sign on West Leonard in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The sign looks to be in good shape, but I've never seen it on.
