The shop with the shutters down and the 'To Let' board was the Eclipse Dry Cleaners. I can't remember a time it wasn't there but it closed near the end of last year. As seen on a walk.
S'empresser au pressing...
Car au pressing il y a de la demande... Et que les couettes ne vont pas se laver et se blanchir toutes seules !
Patience...
Shot(s) taken for SSC 03/08/2024 -- Flags .
The whole village is flying Union Flags and bunting - something to do with another sports thing I suppose .
This shot and the one in the first comment box are only about 30 meters apart - I did contemplate both in a diptych , but it just did not look right .
This is not the dry cleaners I used to run , but back in the day it was a sister shop and I often drop in to see my friend who runs it and get a perchloroethylene fix !
flags do not figure in songs to often , but a Jethro Tull mention of a Chequered Flag will fit the bill -----------
A Bestway Cleaners location in East York. The Bestway name has been associated with neighbourhood dry cleaning in Toronto since at least the late 1960s, with other long-running locations serving the city for decades.

I was in one of the branches of the old dry cleaners that was in the group that I worked for back in the day talking to an old colleague when he said look at that - I turned on the spot , fired up the camera and took a shot . As you can see in that time it had started to go behind the fence so I did not get a full shot unfortunately . I will not stick my head out and say what this is other than to say that it is an old Alvis - year and model I am not sure . For the eagle eyed you will see part of my SSC shot now with all the masonry demolished !!
And that is another random car on the streets !!
I went to GreenStar to do my weekly grocery shopping and as usual, Angelo had his sign out. This one gave me a chuckle.
